Urine use

Some methods of treatment with folk remedies are already outdated, but still popular. For example, treating candidiasis with urine is a long-known, but very controversial way to get rid of the disease. Healers recommend douching alternately with herbal decoction and urine. The procedure is unpleasant, and its effectiveness is questionable. In addition, the fungus can be reintroduced into the body through urine.

Thrush is only a seemingly harmless disease; in fact, it can significantly affect a person’s well-being. Contrary to popular belief, thrush affects not only women, but also men and children. This is due to the fact that the causative agent of the disease, the fungus Candida, lives in the body of every person. Most of the time, this fungus remains dormant, but when certain conditions arise, it begins to actively multiply and causes thrush.

Why does thrush occur?

The yeast-like fungus Candida in a healthy woman is suppressed by the immune system. That is why the appearance of thrush is the first signal of serious problems in the body, for the solution of which it is necessary to turn to both traditional and folk medicine. Timely treatment of the cause of the decline in immunity will help to quickly get rid of the manifestations of thrush. The most common causes of Candida fungus include:

  • Infection and inflammation in the body.
  • Treatment with antibiotics.
  • Impaired functions of the thyroid and pancreas.
  • Previous surgery.
  • Disturbances of healthy intestinal microflora.
  • Hormonal contraceptives.

Also, thrush can be triggered by lifestyle features, for example, the presence of exclusively synthetic underwear in the wardrobe, constant nervous tension, stress due to changing time zones and climate zones, as well as exceeding the permissible sugar standards in the daily diet. As you know, sugar is a breeding ground for fungi.

Symptoms of the disease

Symptoms of thrush vary from person to person and can manifest with varying intensity in different women. In some cases, they can be so mild that they are simply not noticed. However, there are always symptoms and you need to know them:

  • The smell of sour milk.
  • Pain when emptying the bladder.
  • Constant itching of the genitals.
  • Curd-like discharge on underwear.

It happens that a woman’s immunity suppresses the development of the fungus, preventing pronounced symptoms and discomfort. Treatment is required for acute and chronic forms of thrush, as this disease can significantly reduce a woman's quality of life. In addition, other, more serious diseases can be disguised as thrush. First, you should submit a smear for bacteriological examination. Having established a pathological amount of Candida fungus, the doctor will prescribe the necessary treatment against it, and also advise what traditional medicine can be used against thrush.

Treatment at home

Traditional medicine will provide good assistance in the treatment of thrush, but they should be supplemented with comprehensive methods aimed at eliminating the causes of this disease. Secondly, you need to adjust your diet. The following products provide fertile ground for the development of Candida:

  • Store-bought sweets
  • Yeast bread
  • Alcohol

By refusing, or at least minimizing, these dishes, you can significantly reduce the intensity of thrush symptoms. At the same time, the following foods should be included in the diet:

  • All kinds of berries
  • Dairy products
  • Beans, broad beans and green peas
  • Carrot
  • Citrus
  • Bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves

Many women have experienced thrush. This fungal disease brings a lot of trouble and discomfort to its victim. How does this insidious disease manifest itself and how to deal with it?

The symptoms of thrush, or vaginal candidiasis, are specific and often pronounced, which allows doctors to quickly and accurately make the correct diagnosis. However, there are cases when the symptoms are not sufficiently pronounced and additional laboratory tests are required to make a diagnosis. So, what are the main symptoms of thrush in women?

  • Abundant curdled vaginal discharge in the form of mucus with white lumps.
  • Unpleasant sensations in the form of burning and severe itching in the genital area, pronounced hyperemia and swelling of the labia majora and minora. The symptom is worse in a warm environment (after taking a hot bath) and at night.
  • Pain and discomfort during the act of urination (the inflamed epithelium reacts painfully to urine that has become aggressive for it).
  • Painful and unpleasant sensations during sexual intercourse.

Many women note, along with the listed symptoms, a specific smell of discharge. This smell is weak and has a sour, “kefir” tint.

IMPORTANT: Thrush may have an atypical course (erased course) and a woman may be bothered by only one of the listed symptoms.

In such cases, it is especially important to consult a specialist so that the diagnosis is made correctly and adequate treatment is prescribed. In addition, thrush can accompany other more severe infections and be only one component of the overall picture of the disease. Only a doctor can differentiate the diagnosis based on the examination.

Causes of thrush in women

The causative agent of candidiasis is considered to be the fungus Candida albicans, which is normally present in 80% of healthy people and does not cause any problems. This fungus, living in the female vagina, maintains normal acid-base balance in it.

IMPORTANT: The healthy flora of the female genital organs is supported by the immune system and suppresses excessive bacterial growth. If for some reason a malfunction occurs in the body, then the growth and reproduction of bacteria and fungi is activated and thrush may develop.

The main causes of candidiasis in women

  • Taking antibiotics, especially long-term, inhibits the healthy microflora of the female body. At the same time, antibiotics do not act on the fungal flora, which begins to actively multiply and thrush occurs.
  • General decrease in body resistance. Chronic foci of infection that are not treated in time reduce immunity and the body becomes defenseless against Candida albicans.
  • Metabolic disorders which often occur as a result of diabetes mellitus. If carbohydrate metabolism is disturbed, with a general increase in blood sugar levels, there is an excess of it in the vaginal mucus, and for fungi that cause thrush, this is the best nutrient medium. The second factor contributing to the development of thrush in diabetes is a violation of protein metabolism and, as a consequence, a decrease in the body’s immune forces.
  • Irrational and unbalanced nutrition with increased consumption of sweets and baked goods. As a result, the pancreas malfunctions, the production of insulin is insufficient, and almost the same thing happens as with diabetes mellitus.
  • Hormonal imbalances. For example, pregnancy, incorrectly selected contraceptives or diseases of the endocrine system.
  • Incorrect use of sanitary pads(insufficiently frequent changes), as well as tight synthetic underwear can lead to the development of vaginal candidiasis.

Thrush during pregnancy: what to do?

Thrush in pregnant women is a fairly common occurrence.

IMPORTANT: Vaginal candidiasis complicates pregnancy and can contribute to infection of the fetus and newborn child. Therefore, thrush cannot be considered a normal occurrence for a pregnant woman.

The main cause of thrush in pregnant women is decreased immunity and changes in hormonal balance. In order for a woman to be able to bear a child and avoid fetal rejection, the immune response becomes less aggressive.
Interfering with medication in this process is fraught with serious consequences, therefore

During pregnancy, even sexual relations with a partner can cause an exacerbation of thrush, so it is better to avoid them for a while.

How to treat thrush in women?

Having diagnosed thrush and confirmed his diagnosis with laboratory tests, the gynecologist prescribes treatment.

IMPORTANT: When choosing medications, the gynecologist relies on the results of bacterial culture of a vaginal smear, which determines the sensitivity of fungi to specific active ingredients.

The usual causative agent of thrush is Candida albicans, but in chronic cases, Candida glabrata, which is more resistant to antifungal agents, may grow.

All drugs for the treatment of thrush are divided into 2 large groups: for local treatment and systemic (general) action.

  • Local preparations— vaginal tablets, suppositories, ointments and creams are the preferred choice in favor of gentle therapy, especially during pregnancy and in uncomplicated, initial forms of the disease.
Systemic drugs(in the form of tablets and in combination with local remedies) are more often used for chronic thrush complicated by concomitant infections.
In addition to taking medications aimed at eliminating the immediate cause of the disease, that is, fungi,

IMPORTANT: be sure to follow several rules for the treatment to be successful:

  • perform hygiene procedures,
  • eat right - include fresh vegetables and fruits, dairy products, protein foods in your menu, avoid excessive consumption of sweets, spicy, spicy, smoked foods,
  • use panty liners (unscented!) correctly - change them as often as possible when soiled,
  • avoid prolonged exposure to the sun or cold and strong physical activity,
  • during treatment, avoid sexual intercourse,
  • Avoid stressful situations.

Treatment of thrush in women at home

Thrush must be treated comprehensively. Most often, douching with herbal decoctions, local baths with soda solution or herbal decoctions, and tampons with kefir or tea tree oil are actively used at home.

IMPORTANT: Nutritional adjustments and vitamin therapy are also an indispensable condition for success in treatment. But it is worth remembering that advanced forms of candidiasis cannot be cured without visiting a specialist and taking special antifungal agents.

Anna: The thrush came on completely unexpectedly. How to treat? Of course, Diflucan! Advertising is played constantly. I bought it, drank it, it helped. But then I found out that the active ingredient is fluconazole. Fluconazole, which costs 20 rubles, and Diflucan - 600 rubles! I took Fluconazole again and didn’t feel any difference at all. Advice: always ask for cheap analogues, don’t throw away your money!

Marina:I bought Pimafucin suppositories. Reviews seem to be good about them. But it didn't help me! It turned out that it didn’t help, because I had bacterial vaginitis, not thrush... The doctor told me this when I went to the appointment. He prescribed Betadine tablets and suppositories. That helped. And I saved myself with Pimafucin during pregnancy - that’s when it worked)) Don’t treat yourself, girls, go to the doctor.

Regardless of whether you prefer traditional medicine or folk remedies, you must remember that the main thing is a correct diagnosis and timely treatment. Good health to you, and may this illness be unfamiliar to you.
