Distribution

The binding of clemastine to plasma proteins is 95%. It is excreted in breast milk in small quantities.

Metabolism and excretion

Excretion from plasma has a two-phase character, the corresponding T 1/2 is 3.6 ± 0.9 h and 37 ± 16 h. Clemastine undergoes significant metabolism in the liver. Metabolites are mainly (45-65%) excreted in the urine; unchanged active substance is found in the urine only in trace amounts.
