One of the most popular centers for vocational rehabilitation is “Crafts” in Zelenograd. Rehabilitation of disabled people includes psychological, medical and legal assistance, career guidance and training in sought-after specialties, physical education, sports and various types of therapy. There are more than 100 government institutions involved in rehabilitation in Moscow, mainly based on territorial social service centers. According to the results of the first three quarters of this year, more than 41 thousand people used their services. It is planned that by the end of the year more than 55 thousand Muscovites with disabilities will undergo comprehensive rehabilitation. The latest technologies are used at the Scientific and Practical Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Disabled People named after L.I. Shvetsova and the Tekstilshchiki rehabilitation center.

Multidisciplinary complexes are being created on the basis of existing institutions, which use modern programs and techniques. One of these centers is planned to open next year in Butovo (Polyany Street, building 42): the premises are being renovated, the necessary equipment is being purchased and personnel are being trained.

Also, comprehensive rehabilitation services are provided by non-state centers: rehabilitation center for the disabled “Overcoming”, Martha-Mariinsky Medical Center “Mercy”, scientific and production center “Ogonyok”, rehabilitation center “Three Sisters”, Russian rehabilitation center “Childhood” and others.

In addition, unique techniques are used, such as hippotherapy - therapeutic horse riding - and canistherapy, when a positive effect is achieved through communication with specially trained dogs.

A program for the rehabilitation of disabled children and young disabled people is being developed in health resorts in the Moscow region, central Russia, the Krasnodar Territory, the North Caucasus and Crimea. Visitors will be treated to an exhibition-fair of items made by the hands of disabled people, master classes on beadwork, painting, wood painting, knitting and sculpture.

On December 6, the Central House of Artists will gather disabled children and orphans for the traditional, seventh charity event “Tree of Wishes.” The guys will meet celebrities, take part in master classes, complete the “The Path of Goodness” quest and, of course, receive gifts. This meeting can be considered a kind of rehearsal for the New Year.
