Cefekon D suppositories for children - instructions for the use of rectal suppositories for the treatment of children. Tsefekon suppositories for children Tsefekon release form

Cefekon is an antipyretic and analgesic that is often prescribed to children. It should be in every baby's first aid kit, and it can be used starting from the third month of a child's life. If necessary (to bring down a high temperature), you can insert a candle without prescribing it from a doctor.

The main active ingredient in Cefekon D is paracetamol.

Before using the drug, study.

Composition and action of Tsefekon

The drug contains two substances: paracetamol (the main active ingredient) and vitepsol - a fatty base, which begins to melt when it reaches human body temperature. At room temperature, the candle is semi-solid - torpedo-shaped.

The only active ingredient is paracetamol, which, when it enters the body, begins to act on the part of the brain that regulates body temperature. It also interferes with the transmission of pain signals, which allows the drug to be used in two directions at once:

  1. To reduce temperature.
  2. To fight pain.

The peculiarity of Tsefekon is that Using the medicine at normal temperature does not contribute to its change (decrease). In this case, only an analgesic effect is observed.

Release form

Cefekon is available only in the form of suppositories. There are two labels for the drug:

  • Cefekon D (for children);
  • Cefekon N (for adults).

Suppositories for children and adults differ not only in the size of the suppositories, but also in the active substance. In the drug labeled “H”, its role is played by naproxen, an analogue of paracetamol.

For children, you can only use a drug labeled only with the letter “D”.

Temperature suppositories are the most convenient form of antipyretics.

Tsefekon children's suppositories vary in the amount of active substance in one dose. There are suppositories containing 50, 100 and 250 mg of paracetamol per 1.25 g of the drug (that’s how much one candle weighs). The appropriate dosage of medication for your child depends on his age and weight.

When and why is Cefekon given to children?

The use of Cefekon is indicated for:

  • colds (acute respiratory infections and acute respiratory viral infections);
  • flu;
  • childhood infections accompanied by fever;
  • aches, pain in joints and muscles;
  • toothache;
  • neuralgia identified by a doctor (if diagnosed).

Cefekon only eliminates pain and normalizes body temperature. If your baby is not in pain and has no fever, even if he has a cold, there is no need to take the drug. The suppositories do not relieve the disease itself, only its indicated symptoms.

The drug eliminates pain and normalizes body temperature, but does not cure a cold.

But pediatricians allow one-time use of Cefekon D for children aged 1 to 3 months to reduce fever after vaccination.

There is no need to reduce the temperature as soon as it begins to rise. This is the correct reaction of the body, which indicates that it is actively fighting pathogens. Only too high a temperature is harmful. Therefore, the child needs to reduce it no earlier than it reaches 38 degrees. About when and.

The mother of 4-year-old Maxim writes in a review:

“I’m afraid when my son gets a fever. As soon as I see the number 37 on the thermometer, I start treating with Cefekon. Maxim's cold lasts a long time - more than a week. I decided that it was time to improve my immunity, so I turned to my pediatrician for appointments. And only he was able to explain to me that my son has been sick for so long because I do not allow my body to fight on its own. After all, immune bodies are formed in large numbers precisely at elevated temperatures, which I always lowered. I don’t do this anymore, Maksimka gets sick less often.”

Directions for use and dosage

The suppositories are administered rectally (in the butt). This method of taking the medicine is convenient for young children who have difficulty giving it orally (swallowing). It is also justified for older children if a high temperature is accompanied by vomiting.

Before inserting the suppository, do a cleansing enema.

It is better to administer suppositories after cleansing the intestines.(natural or forced). The only exception can be infants, for whom stool up to 7-8 times a day is the norm. And in other cases, you can use an enema with boiled water, glycerin suppositories or other fast-acting laxatives.

The dosage depends on the child’s body weight. To reduce the temperature and eliminate pain, it is enough to take 10-15 mg of the active substance per kilogram once. This means that if a child weighs 5 kilograms, then you can use suppositories of 50 mg of paracetamol in one suppository, and with a weight of 20 kg - 250 mg. Taking into account the dependence of body weight on the baby’s age, the average single doses can be calculated:

  • 1-3 months - 1 suppository 50 mg;
  • From 3 months to one year - 1 suppository 100 mg;
  • From 1 year to 3 years - 1 or 2 suppositories of 100 mg each;
  • From 3 to 10 - one suppository 250 mg;
  • From 10 to 12 years - up to 2 candles at a time.

Advice! If the dosage turns out to be a little less or more, it’s okay, because you can’t divide the candles into parts. Paracetamol is distributed unevenly in them, while one suppository contains a strictly defined amount of the active substance.

The effect of Cefekon will begin to be felt after 30 minutes after administration of the drug. It will last up to 4-6 hours, after which the medication can be repeated if necessary. But You should not take more than 60 mg/kg body weight per day.

Attention! Without a doctor's prescription, Cefekon should not be taken for fever for longer than 3 days, and for pain control - for more than 5 days.

If fever and pain continue, you should see a doctor. And he will decide whether the baby should continue to be treated with these suppositories.

The child will feel the effect of the drug within 30 minutes.

Can it be combined with other medications?

If you give your child other drugs in addition to Cefekon, read their instructions. The “description” section should indicate which group of drugs they belong to. Antipyretic suppositories should not be used with:

  • direct anticoagulants (suppositories enhance them);
  • chloramphenicols;
  • salicylates.

In order not to exceed the dose of paracetamol, you need to include it in all medications you take.

It is also contained in the drug of the same name - Paracetamol syrup, as well as in Panadol. Therefore, if you are being treated with Cefekon, then you can no longer take them! But if necessary, you can use antipyretics with another active ingredient - ibuprofen, which is contained in suppositories or Nurofen syrup.

Nurofen can be used as an additional antipyretic. The main active ingredient in the composition is ibuprofen.

Manufacturers and analogue drugs

Tsefekon suppositories are supplied to pharmacies across the country by the Russian company NizhPharm. The price of the drug ranges from 40-50 rubles per package, which contains 10 suppositories. But if the pharmacy does not have this drug, then you can buy any of its analogues. Here's a quick overview of them:

  • Efferalgan. Only candles and syrup are suitable for children. The main difference is the presence of an additional anti-inflammatory effect. The average cost is 135 rubles.
  • Paracetamol. The drug with an average price of 50 rubles is almost completely identical in composition to Tsefekon. But besides suppositories, he has another form of medicine - syrup, which is pleasant to take (only in the absence of nausea and vomiting).
  • Panadol. Only syrup, suspension and suppositories are intended for children. Has an anti-inflammatory effect. Unlike its “brothers”, it does not harm the stomach and duodenum. It costs 60-100 rubles depending on the form of release.

The mother of 3-year-old Ksyusha in her review told how she was worried that she bought the wrong drug that the doctor prescribed:

“There was no Cefekon in the pharmacy. And the pharmacist offered to buy Panadol. He convinced me that this would help my daughter. But I was afraid to admit to the doctor that instead of the prescribed suppositories we were taking delicious syrup. But at the appointment, the doctor asked if we were following the instructions. I decided to tell you. But the doctor said that there was nothing wrong with that, because these drugs had the same effect! Only in different forms, and the auxiliary substances are different. But both here and there - paracetamol!”

Cefekon is a fast-acting drug that can be given to children without a doctor’s prescription when the temperature rises or pain occurs. But this is not the treatment of the disease, but the elimination of its unpleasant symptoms. Therefore, before using suppositories, call your doctor. And if the temperature rises sharply to 38.5 or higher, call an ambulance.

Alisa Nikitina

When a child has a fever, parents try to give him the most effective and safe antipyretic drug, but choosing it is very difficult, since pharmacies offer a very large assortment of such drugs.

To facilitate the selection process, in this article we will talk about antipyretic suppositories for children - Cefekon D, namely the composition and features of the use of this drug.

Composition and principle of action of suppositories for children Tsefekon D

In terms of its composition, Cefekon is considered one of the safest antipyretic drugs for children, as it contains:

  • active ingredient – paracetamol;
  • auxiliary – Viseptol.

The principle of action of this medicine is to act on the thermoregulatory center and reduce pain sensitivity, so the child’s temperature begins to drop and the pain subsides. The onset of action is usually observed after approximately 30 minutes.

Indications and contraindications for the use of Cefekon D

This drug can be taken for all viral diseases that cause fever, colds, flu, as well as for burns, injuries, after vaccination. It is prescribed even for childhood neuralgia and headaches.

Contraindications to taking Cefekon D are intolerance and hypersensitivity to paracetamol, as well as the presence of inflammatory processes and bleeding in the rectum. Do not combine with other drugs that also contain paracetamol.
It is not advisable to take Cefekon if you have problems with the kidneys and liver, with a low level of hemoholbin and a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. If there is an urgent need for this, do this only under the supervision of a doctor.

Dosage of Tsefekon D suppositories

There are suppositories in two dosages, which should be taken depending on age:

  • 100 mg – from 3 months to 1 year, 1 pc., from 1 year to 3 years – 1-2 pcs.;
  • 250 mg - from 3 years to 10 years, 1 piece, after 10 years - 1-2 pieces.

The dosage of the drug should be calculated by the doctor, based not only on the age, but also on the weight of the baby:

  • 7-10 kg – 1 suppository of 100 mg;
  • 11-16 kg – 1-2 pcs. 100 mg each;
  • 17-30 kg – 1 pc. 250 mg each;
  • 31-35 kg – 1-2 pcs. 250 mg each.

You can lower your temperature with Cefekon D no more than 2-3 times per day, the minimum interval between doses should be 4 hours. As an antipyretic it can be used for 3 days in a row, and as an analgesic - for 5 days, then the medicine should be changed.

Of course, you can use Cefekon D only once, for example, when the temperature rises after vaccination or in case of injury.
The instructions for the drug indicate that it is recommended to use it only after 3 months, but if there is an urgent need, it can be used earlier, only by reducing the single dose by 2 times, that is, 50 mg. But you should carefully monitor the child’s reaction; if the first signs of an allergic reaction appear (rash, redness, diarrhea), you should stop using it.

How to give Cefekon suppositories to children?

Like all suppositories, Cefekon is administered after a bowel movement: natural or with the help of an enema. For this, it is better to place the child on his side, and after the procedure, slightly press the buttocks together and hold for 2-3 minutes.

Rectal suppositories are one of the most convenient dosage forms for treating children, since they are quite easy to administer and can be used even when vomiting, while Cefekon does not affect the functioning of the mucous membranes of the duodenum and stomach. And the fairly low price makes it even more attractive for use.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics:
Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic effects. The drug blocks cyclooxygenase in the central nervous system, affecting the centers of pain and thermoregulation. In inflamed tissues, cellular peroxidases neutralize the effect of paracetamol on cyclooxyginase, which explains the lack of a significant anti-inflammatory effect.
The absence of a blocking effect on the synthesis of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues determines the absence of a negative effect on water-salt metabolism (sodium and water retention) and the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption is high, quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The period to achieve maximum concentration is 30-60 minutes. Penetrates the blood-brain barrier. The amount of bioavailability in children and neonates is similar to that in adults. Metabolized in the liver. The half-life is 2-3 hours. Within 24 hours, 85-95% of paracetamol is excreted by the kidneys in the form of glucuronides and sulfates, unchanged - 3%. There is no significant age-related difference in the rate of elimination of paracetamol and in the total amount of the drug excreted in the urine.

Indications for use

Used in children from 3 months to 12 years as:
- antipyretic for acute respiratory diseases, influenza, childhood infections, post-vaccination reactions and other conditions accompanied by an increase in body temperature;
- an analgesic for pain of mild to moderate intensity, including: headaches and toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, pain from injuries and burns.
In children from 1 to 3 months, a single dose of the drug can be taken to reduce fever after vaccination; the use of the drug for all indications is possible only as prescribed by a doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, neonatal period (up to 1 month).

Carefully

Renal and liver failure, benign hyperbilirubinemia (including Gilbert's syndrome), viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver damage, alcoholism, pregnancy, lactation, genetic absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, simultaneous use of other paracetamol-containing drugs.

Directions for use and doses

Rectally. After spontaneous bowel movement or a cleansing enema, the suppository is released from the contour cell packaging and inserted into the rectum. The dosage of the drug is calculated depending on age and body weight, in accordance with the table. A single dose is 10-15 mg/kg of the child’s body weight, 2-3 times a day, every 4-6 hours. The maximum daily dose of paracetamol should not exceed 60 mg/kg of the child's body weight.

Duration of treatment: 3 days as an antipyretic and up to 5 days as an anesthetic. Extend the course if necessary after consulting a doctor.

Side effect

Allergic reactions (including skin rash).

Interaction with other drugs

Stimulators of microsomal oxidation in the liver (phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, flumecinol, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants), ethanol and hepatotoxic drugs increase the production of hydroxylated active metabolites, which makes it possible to develop severe intoxications, even with a slight overdose. Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation (including cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxicity. When taken together with salicylates, the nephrotoxic effect of paracetamol increases. Combination with chloramphenicol leads to an increase in the toxic properties of the latter. Strengthens the effect of indirect anticoagulants, reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.

special instructions

If fever persists for more than 3 days and pain persists for more than 5 days, you should consult your doctor.
The simultaneous use of paracetamol with other paracetamol-containing drugs should be avoided, as this may cause an overdose of paracetamol.
When using the drug for more than 5-7 days, peripheral blood counts and the functional state of the liver should be monitored. Paracetamol distorts laboratory results in the quantitative determination of glucose and uric acid in plasma.

Overdose

Symptoms: during the first 24 hours after administration - pallor of the skin, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain; impaired glucose metabolism, metabolic acidosis. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may appear 12-48 hours after an overdose. In case of severe overdose - liver failure with progressive encephalopathy, coma, death; acute renal failure with tubular necrosis (including in the absence of severe liver damage); arrhythmia, pancreatitis. The hepatotoxic effect in adults occurs when taking 10 g or more.
Treatment: administration of SH-group donors and precursors for the synthesis of glutathione-methionine 8-9 hours after an overdose and N-acetylcysteine - after 12 hours. The need for further therapeutic measures (further administration of methionine, intravenous administration of N-acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as the time elapsed after its administration.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE.
All information provided is provided for information only about the drug; you should consult your doctor about the possibility of use.

Pharmacological action of Cefekon d

Analgesic-antipyretic. It has analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effects. The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, with a predominant effect on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus.

Pharmacokinetics of the drug.

After oral administration, paracetamol is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, mainly in the small intestine, mainly by passive transport. After a single dose of 500 mg, Cmax in blood plasma is reached after 10-60 minutes and is about 6 mcg/ml, then gradually decreases and after 6 hours it is 11-12 mcg/ml.
Widely distributed in tissues and mainly in body fluids, with the exception of adipose tissue and cerebrospinal fluid.
Protein binding is less than 10% and increases slightly with overdose. Sulfate and glucuronide metabolites do not bind to plasma proteins even at relatively high concentrations.
Paracetamol is metabolized primarily in the liver by conjugation with glucuronide, conjugation with sulfate and oxidation with the participation of mixed liver oxidases and cytochrome P450.
The negatively active hydroxylated metabolite N-acetyl-p-benzoquinoneimine, which is formed in very small quantities in the liver and kidneys by mixed oxidases and is usually detoxified by binding to glutathione, can escalate with paracetamol overdose and cause tissue damage.
In adults, most paracetamol is bound to glucuronic acid and, to a lesser extent, to sulfuric acid. These conjugated metabolites do not have biological activity. In premature infants, newborns and in the first year of life, the sulfate metabolite predominates.
T1/2 is 1-3 hours. In patients with liver cirrhosis, T1/2 is slightly longer. The renal clearance of paracetamol is 5%.
It is excreted in the urine mainly in the form of glucuronide and sulfate conjugates. Less than 5% is excreted as unchanged paracetamol.

Indications for use:

Pain syndrome of weak and moderate intensity of various origins (including headache, migraine, toothache, neuralgia, myalgia, algodismenorrhea; pain from injuries, burns). Fever in infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Dosage and method of administration of the drug.

Orally or rectally in adults and adolescents weighing more than 60 kg, use a single dose of 500 mg, frequency of administration - up to 4 times a day. The maximum duration of treatment is 5-7 days.
Maximum doses: single - 1 g, daily - 4 g.
Single oral doses for children aged 6-12 years - 250-500 mg, 1-5 years - 120-250 mg, from 3 months to 1 year - 60-120 mg, up to 3 months - 10 mg/kg. Single doses for rectal use in children aged 6-12 years - 250-500 mg, 1-5 years - 125-250 mg.
Frequency of use - 4 times a day with an interval of at least 4 hours. Maximum duration of treatment - 3 days.
Maximum dose: 4 single doses per day.

Side effects of Cefekon d:

From the digestive system: rarely - dyspeptic symptoms, with long-term use in high doses - hepatotoxic effect.
From the hematopoietic system: rarely - thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, agranulocytosis.
Allergic reactions: rarely - skin rash, itching, urticaria.

Contraindications to the drug:

Chronic active alcoholism, hypersensitivity to paracetamol.

Use during pregnancy and lactation.

Paracetamol penetrates the placental barrier. To date, there have been no negative effects of paracetamol on the fetus in humans.
Paracetamol is excreted in breast milk: the content in milk is 0.04-0.23% of the dose taken by the mother.
If it is necessary to use paracetamol during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), you should carefully weigh the expected benefits of therapy for the mother and the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Experimental studies have not established the embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects of paracetamol.

Special instructions for the use of Tsefekon d.

Use with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function, with benign hyperbilirubinemia, as well as in elderly patients.
With long-term use of paracetamol, monitoring of the peripheral blood picture and the functional state of the liver is necessary.
It is used to treat premenstrual tension syndrome in combination with pamabrom (a diuretic, a xanthine derivative) and mepiramine (a histamine H1 receptor blocker).

Interaction of Cefekon d with other drugs.

When used simultaneously with inducers of microsomal liver enzymes and drugs with hepatotoxic effects, there is a risk of increasing the hepatotoxic effect of paracetamol.
When used simultaneously with anticoagulants, a slight or moderate increase in prothrombin time is possible.
When used simultaneously with anticholinergic drugs, the absorption of paracetamol may be reduced.
When used simultaneously with oral contraceptives, the elimination of paracetamol from the body is accelerated and its analgesic effect may be reduced.
When used simultaneously with uricosuric drugs, their effectiveness decreases.
With simultaneous use of activated carbon, the bioavailability of paracetamol decreases.
When used simultaneously with diazepam, the excretion of diazepam may be reduced.
There are reports of the possibility of enhancing the myelosuppressive effect of zidovudine when used simultaneously with paracetamol. A case of severe toxic liver damage has been described.
Cases of toxic effects of paracetamol have been described when used simultaneously with isoniazid.
When used simultaneously with carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone, the effectiveness of paracetamol decreases, which is due to an increase in its metabolism (glucuronidation and oxidation processes) and excretion from the body. Cases of hepatotoxicity have been described with the simultaneous use of paracetamol and phenobarbital.
When using cholestyramine for a period of less than 1 hour after taking paracetamol, the absorption of the latter may be reduced.
When used simultaneously with lamotrigine, the excretion of lamotrigine from the body moderately increases.
When used simultaneously with metoclopramide, it is possible to increase the absorption of paracetamol and increase its concentration in the blood plasma.
When used simultaneously with probenecid, the clearance of paracetamol may be reduced; with rifampicin, sulfinpyrazone - it is possible to increase the clearance of paracetamol due to an increase in its metabolism in the liver.
When used simultaneously with ethinyl estradiol, the absorption of paracetamol from the intestine increases.

Antipyretic drugs should be present in every first aid kit, especially when a newborn baby appears in the family. Sometimes it happens very quickly. This condition may be associated with a cold, infection, or. In such cases, an immediate antipyretic drug is necessary. Tsefekon - suppositories for children (instructions for use are below) can help out in this situation.

Suppositories are the most in demand and popular, but they are not suitable for all children. They will quickly relieve your child of fever and are cheap. The price ranges from 39 to 49 rubles. Let's find out whether it is worth buying rectal suppositories called Cefekon.

Principle of action, composition and correct administration

Cefekon belongs to the group of analgesic non-narcotic drugs. The active substance paracetamol blocks cyclooxygenase in the central nervous system. In turn, the central nervous system affects the center from which pain comes. The drug maintains body temperature within certain limits. The composition of rectal suppositories includes the additional component vitepsol.

The medicine is sold in different dosages. Pharmacological companies produce a product whose active substance is dosed at 50, 100 and 250 mg. This dosage is convenient to use; there is no need to cut the candle if you need a smaller amount of the active ingredient.

Attention! Cefekon is used only rectally.

How to light candles for newborns and adult children? They are inserted into the anus. Before using the suppository, you should empty your intestines; it can be spontaneous or with the help of an enema. After emptying, place the child on his side, pull his legs towards his stomach so that it is convenient to administer the product. After the candle has already entered the anus, squeeze the baby’s buttocks and ask him to lie in this position for a while.

Dosage for newborns and children under 12 years of age

The dosage regimen depends on the child’s body weight. The annotation for the drug (instructions for use) states that it can be used once or repeatedly.

Important! The effect of Cefekon lasts from 4 to 6 hours.

The 50 mg suppositories are prescribed to newborns from 1 to 3 months. Suppositories of 100 mg (1 piece) are prescribed at the age of 3 months to 1 year. For a child 1–3 years old, weighing 11–16 kg, it is recommended to administer 1–2 suppositories at a time.

At the age of 3 to 10 years, the maximum daily dose is 750 mg. That is, 3 suppositories are administered at a temperature of 0.25 g each, leaving 6 hours between each administration. Children from 10 to 12 years old, whose weight exceeds 30 kg, are prescribed 2 suppositories of 0.25 g (500 mg).

How often can Cefekon rectal suppositories be used? In a single dose, the drug is administered 2-3 times a day, every 4-6 hours. A maximum of 60 mg/kg body weight can be used.

How long does it take for Cefekon to work? The effect of the drug begins to be felt 30 minutes after administration.

Indications and contraindications for use

Antipyretic suppositories are used for children under 12 years of age. The remedy is taken for any viral and infectious diseases that cause fever. Indications for use:

  • smallpox;
  • acute respiratory infections;
  • post-vaccination period;
  • headache;

Cefekon D is effective for myalgia, lumbago, and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Rectal suppositories are contraindicated for use in newborns less than 1 month old. It should be taken with caution in case of anemia and neurotropenia. The drug reduces hemoglobin.

Also, suppositories for fever should not be given to a child if the main active ingredient is intolerant or if there is an inflammatory process in the rectum. Cefekon should not be used if you have a congenital deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.

Side effects after using rectal suppositories are rare. However, there have been cases of allergic reaction, nausea and abdominal pain. manifests itself as a skin rash, itching and hives. There are rare cases of thrombocytopenia and neurotopenia.

Attention! Stop using the product if your child becomes drowsy and slow.

The use of drugs in high doses causes an overdose. In such a situation, a dyspeptic phenomenon or hepatotoxic effect is possible.

The hepatotoxic effect increases with simultaneous use with inducers of microsomal liver enzymes (Phenytoin, Ethanol, Phenylbutazone). The absorption of paracetamol decreases when anticholinergic drugs are used simultaneously with Cefekon, and increases if the drug is combined with Metoclopramide.

The activity of the drug is reduced by adsorbents. For example, activated carbon and atoxyl. When Cefekon is combined with anti-tuberculosis drugs, toxic damage to the body occurs.

Important! Rectal suppositories cannot be used simultaneously with salicylates, so as not to cause nephrotoxicity.

Combination of Cefekon with Nurofen

Helps against high fever and various pains. The difference between the products is the active ingredient. Is it possible to give Nurofen and Cefekon at the same time? To this question, most pediatricians will answer that it is impossible. The medications are alternated, but it is not recommended to give them at the same time. Undesirable side effects and a sharp drop in temperature may occur. Every parent should know how to alternate Nurofen and Cefekon. There should be at least 4 hours between taking one of the antipyretic drugs.

How long after Nurofen can Cefekon be given? These drugs based on ibuprofen and paracetamol can be alternated with a break of two hours. However, do not forget about the daily norm of each of them. The effect of Nurofen lasts up to 8 hours. It is given no more than 3 times a day. Between doses you can give Cefekon.

Tsefekon or Nurofen suppositories: which is better? Each child's body is individual. For some, the first remedy is suitable, for others it is better to use the second remedy. If you choose between suppositories, then Cefekon is better, since it can be used from the first month, and Nurofen from the third.

Cefekon or Panadol

Panadol suspension has a pleasant taste. However, not all children like it. Panadol - therefore it cannot be alternated with Cefekon. An overdose may occur. Take either one or the other. Simultaneously prohibited.

Panadol or Cefekon: which is better? Having compared the reviews of the two products, we can say with confidence that parents are inclined to use Cefekon. Panadol does not help many children. They begin to choke, cough or spit out. An alternative way to reduce fever is suppositories with paracetamol. The child will not spit them out, and they will certainly help. Cefekon is not absorbed into the stomach and does not affect the liver and kidneys, unlike Panadol.

Attention! Rectal suppositories lower the temperature faster than suspensions.

And if you choose between Panadol Baby and Cefekon candles, the first option is better because its effect is stronger.

What can replace rectal suppositories (analogs)

Suppositories can be replaced with medications in various forms. Analogues of Cefekon in suppositories:

  • Panadol;
  • Mexalen;
