The procedure for working on the Christmas tree toy “New Year’s cat”

1. Draw a figurine of a cat on cardboard or paper and cut it out. The figurine should not be too large, then it will look harmonious on the Christmas tree. This figurine is 10 cm high and 11 cm long.

2. Cut out two identical cat figures from orange fabric (fleece or felt). There is no need to make seam allowances.

3. Sew figures cut out of orange fabric using orange threads. You need to sew with small buttonhole stitches. We will leave a hole on the back of the figure for stuffing the toy.

4. Let’s fill the cat figurine with padding polyester (or some other filler - padding polyester fluff, holofiber). We will stuff it, starting from the ears and head and ending with the tail.

5. After the cat figurine is completely stuffed with padding polyester, sew up the hole.

6. Cut out a rectangular piece measuring 4 x 3.5 cm from white felt (or fleece). Smoothly cut off the corners on the piece with scissors. From this part we will make a face for our cat.

7. Sew a pink bead in the center of the white part, and down from the nose we embroider two rounded lines with pink floss threads - this will be the mouth. Sew two black beads above the nose - these will be the eyes. The face for the cat is ready.

8. Using white threads, sew the muzzle to the cat figurine. A buttonhole stitch can also be used here.

9. Since our cat is New Year’s, he needs to be made brighter and more elegant. To do this, you can sew golden sequins with yellow beads in the middle to the cat figurine. Sew sequins with beads on the ears, paws, tail and body.

10. Take a beautiful bright yellow nylon ribbon 32 cm long. Treat the sections of the ribbon with fire - quickly burn them with a lit match. We'll tie a ribbon around the cat's neck in the form of a lush bow. Now our cat has become really smart.

11. All that remains is to make a loop so that the cat figurine can be hung on the Christmas tree. Take a thin white cord (jewelry cord will do) 31 cm long. Fold it in half and tie the ends with a knot.

12. Sew the prepared loop to the back side of the figure. You need to sew the loop with white threads behind the knot.
