Telephone ear nose throat. Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Ear Microsurgery. Memo for patients admitted for surgical and conservative treatment to the clinical building of Nikio named after. l.i. Sverzhevsky, to the department for the provision of paid medical services

Institute of ENT Diseases in Moscow is a leading institution in the capital that provides specialized otolaryngological care to patients throughout the country. The institute has a team of professionals consisting of 4 professors, 12 doctors of medical sciences and 39 candidates of medical sciences. Clinical research is constantly being conducted, new (sometimes proprietary) methods for diagnosing and treating diseases are being developed.

The institute includes several departments, each of which deals with one or another branch of otolaryngology.

  1. Department of pathology of the upper respiratory tract (nasopharynx) and plastic surgery of the nose. The department's specialists deal with surgical treatment of diseases of the nose, paranasal sinuses and pharynx. All operations are performed using a gentle method, endoscopically, that is, without large tissue incisions. In addition to plastic surgery, the department also deals with the treatment of chronic diseases - sinusitis, rhinitis, tonsillitis.
  2. Department of Reconstructive Surgery of the Hollow Organs of the Neck. No other ENT center in Moscow deals so closely with the treatment of diseases of the larynx, trachea and cervical esophagus. The department's employees are proficient in the latest methods for treating stenosis of the larynx and esophagus. A unique algorithm for diagnosing and treating laryngeal stenosis has been developed, for which in 2006 the institute’s employees became laureates of the Moscow City Prize in the field of medicine.
  3. Department of ear microsurgery. The department's employees deal exclusively with the pathology of the middle and inner ear, perform unique high-tech operations, and develop proprietary diagnostic and treatment methods. The department has developed a unique method for treating vestibular disorders - laser destruction of the vestibular apparatus. Hearing-improving operations for otosclerosis, exudative otitis media, chronic purulent otitis media, and Meniere's disease are successful.
  4. Department of Audiology and Pathology of the Inner Ear. The employees of this department deal with the diagnosis of hearing disorders. The latest diagnostic techniques are being introduced - videonystagmography, stabilometry, recording of auditory evoked potentials and others.
  5. The Department of Phoniatrics and Laryngeal Microsurgery is the only place in Moscow that deals so closely with voice issues. A comprehensive examination of the patient is carried out to determine the exact cause of the voice disorder. Employees deal not only with physical disorders of the vocal apparatus, but also with psychological problems. Micro-operations are performed with minimal introduction into the body.
  6. The Department of ENT Pathology of Children is the leading department for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ENT organs in children throughout the Russian Federation. The country's best pediatric ENT doctors develop algorithms for diagnosing and treating ear, nose and throat in children, implement methods into practice and conduct training programs for specialists in other cities.
  7. The sleep laboratory (somnology) specializes in problems of the ENT organs that arise during sleep. This is the treatment of patients with snoring, sleep apnea (attacks of breathing pauses during sleep). A comprehensive examination of patients is carried out, the cause of the pathology is determined, and then therapeutic measures are taken.

On 11/18/19 I had surgery: removal of a maxillary sinus cyst on the left through the left lower nasal meatus, septoplasty, vasotomy of the inferior turbinates on both sides. To say that I was very afraid is to say nothing, especially since this was my first operation in my life! I read a hundred reviews about how such an operation was performed, because the slightest thing was important to me. This is probably why I am now writing a review for future patients, and also in gratitude to the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology named after. L.I. Sverzhevsky. But first things first. Initially, I went for an examination to M.S. Letunovskaya, and only then she sent me for surgery. An excellent doctor: sensitive and with a sense of humor! Now if I go for an examination at the institute, then only to her! I thought that I would be admitted to the hospital on November 17, but I arrived right on the day of the operation. I stood in hundreds of queues and passed through hundreds of offices. I arrived at 8:20, and they took me to the operation around 13:00. I was already settled in the ward (a 4-bed ward, with wardrobes, a refrigerator and a TV), met my neighbors (a big hello to the girls from ward 463! Thank you for your kindness and care, I hope that everything is fine with you), how did you follow me the gurney arrives, they tell me to stay in my shorts and socks, lie down on the gurney, and that’s it – we rush off to the operation. Before the operation, I was probably transferred to three gurneys. They gave me an injection that seemed to calm me down (in any case, I wanted to shake with fear, but I couldn’t), and they took me to the operating room. They chatted with me there, in general, they removed my fear in every possible way. When the anesthesiologist arrived (many thanks to A.S. Belyaev not only for the excellent work and my fairly easy recovery from anesthesia, but also for distracting me from my anxiety with his jokes), he put a mask on me (I had general anesthesia) and I fell asleep. Although, to be honest, I was scared because I didn’t expect that this anesthesia, which you have to breathe, makes you feel like you don’t have enough air. I woke up when I heard my name being called. But then she seemed to fall asleep again. I woke up under an oxygen mask. Cool stuff! I like it. I lay in a special separate post-operative ward, and only then I was returned to my room. I dozed all day. I was afraid to get up because... Having read various reviews, I thought that who knows what kind of “recovery” I would have after anesthesia. But in the end I only felt slightly dizzy. I didn't feel like eating at all. I drank a lot. By the way, take a straw to make it easier to drink, otherwise it’s difficult to drink from a bottle or mug with this “piglet” on your nose. On the second day after surgery, they took the tampons out of my nose. I thought that I was already so strong that I could walk around the hospital, chat on the phone, etc., but it turned out that I couldn’t. I got tired very quickly, so I just decided to lie in bed. And again, I didn’t feel like eating at all, although the food in the hospital is excellent! On the third day after the operation (11/20/19) I was discharged. There was zero strength. By the way, during the entire inpatient period they came to give injections and put on IVs. Again, many thanks to the girls who came (Teresa, as well as another doctor, unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but she came to “shoot” thermometers in our heads and give us injections)! Even on the day of discharge I was not deprived of an IV. After discharge, I went almost every Monday (until December 16) to see my surgeon, R.A. Rezakov. Thank him very much! I didn’t expect that I would need to go for inspections so often, but that’s actually good. I also want to say a big thank you to Daria Alexandrovna (unfortunately, I don’t know her last name), who met me on the day of the operation, and then came to pick me up for some procedures and was even there during the examination. Very nice girl! Today a month has passed since the operation, and I even managed to catch a cold, but the runny nose went away much easier than before. The difference “before” and “after” the operation is noticeable. Let's see what happens in six months or a year. I hope I don’t have to add this review to the fact that I can’t breathe again. Thank you very much to NIKIO them. Sverzhevsky!

Treatment: frequent sinusitis Specialization/department: Otolaryngology

Negative: In December 2013, I asked your clinic for advice on whether it was worth operating on my nasal septum due to a deviated septum; I often suffered from sinusitis. They took a CT scan and said yes, surgery is needed. He underwent surgery, although in his own city. Did not help. This year, starting in the fall, I have been suffering from sinusitis for the fourth time, it turned out to be due to a dental cyst. This time, pus from the cyst broke into the maxillary sinus. Out of curiosity, I showed this CT scan that you did in 2013 to my dentist, she easily discovered this cyst. I suffered for 4 years, and if your doctor would have simply sent me with this picture to a consultation with a dentist that year, I would have avoided surgery and repeated relapses of sinusitis. Two marks for your professionalism.

Hello! Thank you for your comment! I also did a CT scan of my teeth and the same situation. I'd really like to talk to you. How to contact you? If possible write to me

I would like to thank the wonderful doctors who performed septoplasty and conchotomy on me! For the first time in my life, I turned to very attentive, competent specialists - I. G. Kolbanova and her clinical resident M. M. Smirnova. Everything was done very well, conscientiously, they told me everything about the operation and what needed to be done after it. Everything went without pain. Thanks also to the nurses, thank you for the delicious food!

A. E. Kishenevsky performed a conchotomy on me. Alexander Evgenievich performed the operation perfectly, calmed me down, was very attentive, everything was done as carefully as possible, after the operation nothing even hurt and breathing was restored after two days. I am very thankful. Already now, after a few days, my nose is breathing better than before. I really liked the conditions at the institute: the ward, the food, the staff were wonderful. Thanks a lot.

We would like to thank the medical staff of the ENT Center at NIKIO named after. Sverzhevsky. My son lost his hearing for several years and underwent examinations, but there were no results. Through friends we learned about this institute and he came to see Professor E.V. Garov. After the examination, a diagnosis was made and a recommendation was given for further examination at the institute free of charge using a medical policy and a referral from the district clinic. The son was examined by a competent, attentive doctor, Kiselyus Vitas Eduardo. Thank you very much for his professionalism, patience and understanding. Based on the examinations, a decision was made - surgery to restore hearing. My son is 30 years old. I agreed. In January of this year, the wonderful surgeon Olga Vasilievna Fedorova, Vitas Eduardo and Evgeniy Vycheslavovich. Before the operation, everything was explained correctly and all questions were answered. Many thanks to them from us parents and from our son. My son trusts these doctors very much. Olga Vasilievna is a professional in her field, a responsive and attentive person. How much attention and care she provided to her son after the operation. Thanks to these doctors and all the nurses who fed and cared for him after the operation. The clear and coordinated work of the department’s medical workers helps people. The staff is polite and friendly. Good conditions for treatment. We are grateful to the people who restored our son’s hearing. I wish you health and success in your difficult and necessary work.

I had an appointment with the phoniatrist on December 26, 2017. A repeat appointment was recommended in March 2018. It was not possible to make an appointment right away. The receptionist said that registration is only once a month, on the 1st. Today, February 1st, I went to make an appointment, since it was useless to get through by phone. The registry office said that there were no more appointments for March, since now they make appointments at the end of the month. It's a complete mess. People from all over Moscow come to spoil their mood. Is someone keeping an eye on this?

It’s like everyone else, you can’t get through by phone. Half an hour 8th in line and reset. I dial again - the same thing.

Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases

The opening in Moscow on October 22, 1896 of the best clinic in Europe, equipped at a high level for diseases of the ear, nose and throat, became a major event not only for the medical faculty of Moscow University, but also for Russian healthcare. The clinic was built with donations from a remarkable Russian woman, widely known for her charity, Yulia Ivanovna Bazanova. The University Council decided to express its deepest gratitude to Yu. I. Bazanova for her generous gift and to consolidate her selfless activities for the benefit of the oldest Russian university “as an edifying example to posterity” and the clinic was named after Yu. I. Bazanova.

At different times the department was headed by: S.F. Stein, A.F. Ivanov, A.G. Likhachev, N.A. Preobrazhensky, Yu.M. Ovchinnikov, A.S. Lopatin.

Clinic of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases of the First Moscow State Medical University named after. THEM. Sechenov

The director of the clinic is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.M. Svistushkin

The head of the surgical ENT department is Petr Aleksandrovich Kochetkov. Tel

Address: Moscow, Bolshaya Pirogovskaya street, 6, building 1.

Clinic of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases of the First Moscow State Medical University (MMA) named after. THEM. Sechenov opened in Moscow in 1896. The ENT clinic is one of the largest specialized medical institutions in Russia, where they provide diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of diseases of the ear, nose and throat at the most modern level.

The ENT clinic for ear, nose and throat has been and remains one of the best in our country. Over the years, the clinic was headed by prominent scientists who made a great contribution to the development of domestic otorhinolaryngology (A.F. Ivanov, A.G. Likhachev, I.A. Preobrazhensky, S.F. Stein, Yu.M. Ovchinnikov).

Currently, the excellent technical equipment and professionalism of the clinic’s doctors allows us to perform the full range of surgical interventions and conservative treatment of any ENT pathology. The clinic performs sanitary and reconstructive operations on the ear, including all types of tympanoplasty, stapedoplasty, operations to restore the sound-conducting structures of the middle ear, malformations, diseases and injuries of the outer ear, etc. Modern surgical lasers are actively and widely used, including for operations regarding rhinitis, with various ear diseases.

The Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic has developed a unique method of bloodless correction of a deformed nasal septum using laser radiation, which has no analogues in domestic and world medicine. Recently, the clinic has been actively developing endoscopic microsurgery of the upper respiratory tract, which allows, through minimal interventions, to relieve a person from various pathological conditions (nasal polyps, cysts and foreign bodies of the paranasal sinuses, deviated nasal septum, enlarged turbinates in various forms of rhinitis).

Endoscopic technologies allow the clinic's leading surgeons to operate not only in the nasal cavity, but also on neighboring anatomical structures, performing plastic closure of cerebrospinal fluid fistulas of the skull base without external incisions, restoring the patency of the lacrimal ducts in case of dacryocystitis, performing decompression of the orbit in case of its injuries and endocrine diseases, and removing tumors paranasal sinuses, pituitary gland and base of the skull and larynx.

Excellent and lasting results have been achieved in the treatment of such complex diseases as polypous rhinosinusitis associated with bronchial asthma, perforation of the nasal septum, snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. For the latter disease, the clinic uses an original complex method of treatment, which involves a comprehensive examination and selection of an individual method of surgical treatment, usually including various proprietary options for plastic interventions on the soft palate.

Combined operations on intranasal structures and the pyramid of the nose (rhinoseptoplasty) allow you to immediately restore nasal breathing and eliminate existing cosmetic defects. Among the various methods of conservative treatment used in the clinic, I would like to note specially developed reflexology complexes aimed at treating such serious ailments as paralysis of the vocal cords , laryngoneurosis, aphonia (lack of voice), sensorineural hearing loss.

The presence of highly qualified personnel and modern equipment allows us to successfully carry out differential diagnosis of such serious diseases as otosclerosis, sensorineural hearing loss, exudative otitis media, Meniere's disease, vestibulopathies, auditory tube dysfunction, etc.

Methods of complex treatment of acute sensorineural hearing loss of various etiologies (infectious, vascular, traumatic, ototoxic and others) are used. With this disease, it is important to remember that treatment will be more successful the sooner you contact a specialist. So, if you experience unexpected hearing loss or tinnitus, don’t hesitate to contact a doctor.

Patients with various ENT pathologies are successfully treated using reflexology techniques (accupuncture, electropuncture, laser puncture, vacuum massage, needle massage).

Our ENT clinic is more than a hundred years old, during which time a special approach to treating both the disease and the patient has been formed, vast experience has been accumulated and tens of thousands of people have been healed. We are proud of what we can do for you today!

Additional Description

The foundations of the scientific and clinical school of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Otorhinolaryngology were laid in 1935 by the decision and corresponding resolution of the Council of People's Commissars on the creation of the Central Research Institute of Otorhinolaryngology, as a state institution based on the ENT Clinic 1 of the Moscow Medical Institute (currently the Moscow Medical Academy named after I.M. Sechenov). Today MNPTSO named after L.I. Sverzhevsky is the leading integrating institution in the capital in providing specialized otorhinolaryngological care. The center employs 4 professors, 10 doctors and 31 candidates of medical sciences. Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Otorhinolaryngology named after. L.I. Sverzhevsky has its own clinical building, donated to Muscovites by the Government and the city Department of Health, and the Center’s employees also work at the clinical bases of the State Clinical Hospital named after. S.P. Botkin and Children's Clinical Hospital No. 9 named after. G.N. Speransky.

Director of the International Scientific and Pedagogical Center named after L.I. Sverzhevsky - Andrey Ivanovich Kryukov, chief otorhinolaryngologist of Moscow.

Divisions of the Moscow Scientific and Pedagogical Center named after L.I. Sverzhevsky:

  • Clinical building
  • Department of Pathology of the Upper Respiratory Tract and Rhinofacial Aesthetic Surgery
  • Department of Ear Microsurgery
  • Department of Laryngeal Microsurgery and Phoniatrics
  • Department of Reconstructive Surgery of Hollow Neck Organs
  • Department of Audiology and Inner Ear Pathology
  • Department of ENT Pathology of Children
  • Consultative and diagnostic department
  • Functional diagnostics room

The clinical building of the Center, donated to Muscovites by the City Government in 2009, is a unique medical complex that meets all international standards for providing outpatient and inpatient care to patients suffering from ENT diseases. In terms of its technical equipment, staff of specialists and range of services provided, the Clinic of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Otorhinolaryngology is the only highly specialized medical institution in Russia and the CIS, which allows us to solve complex problems in the treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases at the modern level.

The clinical building of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center has:

A hospital with a capacity of 60 beds - an otorhinolaryngological department with day hospital wards;

Anesthesiology service with post-anesthesia recovery and intensive care wards.

Interacting with Moscow clinics, we provide admission to citizens under the compulsory health insurance (CHI) system. The equipment of the Consultative and Diagnostic Department of the Center allows 12 ENT specialists to be seen simultaneously. The initial examination is carried out by highly qualified otolaryngologists. Consultations with a phoniatrist, phonopedist, otoneurologist, audiologist and mycologist are also provided.

Consulting doctors have modern diagnostic equipment at their disposal, which allows them to make a correct diagnosis in a timely and accurate manner.

Preserving the best traditions and unique experience of teachers of the State Research Institute of Ear, Nose and Throat, successfully combining with the latest diagnostic and surgical technologies, we provide medical care for all diseases of the ENT organs.

In 1935, Professor L.I. Sverzhevsky laid the foundation of this famous medical institution by organizing the Research Institute of the People's Commissariat of Health, where diseases of the ear, nose and throat were studied, which existed until 2001 as the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow. A year later, by decree of the capital's government, it was reopened as the Scientific and Practical Center of Otolaryngology by order of the Moscow Health Committee.

Memory

Ludwig Iosifovich Sverzhevsky, an advanced scientist and a wonderful doctor, whose name the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow, founded by him, bears, will always be in the memory of grateful colleagues and patients. The newly opened Center hired the same employees who had been promoting domestic science in this field of medicine for many decades. The director appointed to the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow was also not here for the first time. This is Professor Andrey Ivanovich Kryukov, who also reverently honors the memory of the founder of Russian otolaryngology. In 2012, a monument to Professor L.I. Sverzhevsky was unveiled not far from the clinical building - a solemn event, which was attended by the vice-mayor of Moscow and the head of the Department of Health.

It was then that the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow received the name of the remarkable scientist. In 2014, a new name was received: now this medical institution has become the Sverzhevsky Research Clinical Institute. This is the leading integrating clinic in the capital, which provides specialized care to the population. How effective this assistance is can be judged by the fact that today the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow has four professors, 12 doctors of science and 39 candidates of science among its highly qualified staff. At Volokolamsk Highway, building 30, building 2, there is an equally interesting medical institution of this profile: the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Otolaryngology of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia.

Clinic

In addition to its own clinical building and two branches, the Institute’s employees use the bases of city clinical hospitals No. 1, No. 12, as well as the Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 9 named after G. N. Speransky. Its own building was donated to the residents of the capital by the Moscow Government.

The Department of Upper Respiratory Pathology performs aesthetic surgery, and the department itself is the leading unit for the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases of the nose, pharynx and paranasal sinuses. During operations, micro- and endoscopic techniques are used, and they themselves are carried out as gently and as efficiently as possible, this is what the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow takes care of. On Volokolamsk Highway, at the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center, a wide variety of ENT operations are also carried out and are very successful.

  • Using a number of proprietary techniques and microscopic and endoscopic techniques, surgical interventions are performed on the paranasal sinuses and in the nasal cavity.
  • High-tech methods effectively cure chronic sinusitis: ethmoiditis, sinusitis, sphenoiditis, frontal sinusitis.
  • Reconstructive practical surgery of the paranasal sinuses and nose is performed, including correction of the external nose.
  • Patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and rhonchopathy are comprehensively examined and treated.

Here they operate using minimally invasive technologies of endoscopic microsurgery on the upper respiratory tract, and this makes the treatment more effective, and the time of treatment and rehabilitation of the patient is significantly reduced.

For children

The Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow has a children's department at the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 9, on Shmitovsky Proezd. This is a very old medical institution with a glorious history. It was founded in 1928 as a colony and hospital for street children and was named after Felix Dzerzhinsky, who took care of homeless children in every possible way, and only through his efforts was homelessness defeated so quickly and efficiently. Now it is the capital’s largest healthcare institution for children in all specializations, including the best otolaryngology department in the city and country.

Moscow knows otolaryngology as a leading medical institution in this area, capable of providing both emergency and planned care most effectively. In Children's Hospital No. 9, the bed capacity is very large and numbers 820 units, of which 24 are intensive care units for surgery and infections. Children with the most complex diseases of any vital organs are treated here. About seven thousand operations are performed here annually, 50 thousand children receive treatment on an outpatient basis, and 24 thousand - in a hospital. Quite a large part of these indicators falls on the ear, nose and throat department. But the Institute of Pediatric Otolaryngology in Moscow does not exist separately from adults.

Techniques

The surgical techniques for treating pathologies of the pharynx and nose, which were developed by the institute’s scientists, are truly unique. First of all, this concerns septal splinting and tampon-free management of the postoperative period, contour turbinoplasty, submucosa of the inferior nasal concha, laser ablation of adenoid tissue. When performing a tonsillectomy, a holmium laser is used.

The surgical correction of the internal and external nasal valve, which is performed by the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow, receives many good reviews. At the Shchukinskaya metro station (Volokolamskoe highway, building 30, building 2), where the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center of Otolaryngology is located, during nasal operations, endonasal access to the maxillary sinus is created, preserving the natural anastomosis, which is the highest aerobatics in surgery today. Both the Institute and the Scientific and Clinical Center perform surgery that corrects the upper segment of the bony part of the nasal septum, as well as plastic surgery, which is closed by moving mucoperichondrial flaps. Alignment of the nasal septum (laser septoplasty) in Moscow is also performed by the Institute of Otolaryngology and the National Clinical Center.

Trachea and larynx

Few people know that the difficult word “uvulapalatoplasty” means laser treatment for snoring during sleep. This is the prerogative (among other things) of the department of reconstructive surgery, which specializes in diseases of the hollow organs of the neck. Methods are being developed here that have made this department a leader in the treatment of patients with various pathologies of the trachea, larynx and cervical esophagus.

The development of a diagnostic and treatment algorithm for patients with the larynx brought the institute’s employees the first Moscow Prize for 2006 (in the field of medicine). Absolutely all operations carried out here are high-tech. In principle, all high-tech operations on the trachea and larynx existing in the world are performed by the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow. Reviews are constantly coming in, and there are a lot of them, since more than two hundred only seriously ill patients are operated on here each year.

Ear microsurgery

This department was headed for many years by O.K. Patyakina-Fedorova, Honored Doctor of Russia. She created her own school, and now her students are engaged in ear microsurgery not only throughout Russia, but also abroad. The department is unique not only in the volume of operations and qualifications of doctors, but also in the methods used. More than a hundred copyright certificates have been received during the existence of the department, many rationalization proposals have been prepared, monographs and more than fifty methodological manuals have been published, which discuss the diagnosis and treatment of most diseases of the inner and middle ear.

Thanks to the work of this department, practical healthcare has received a unique method in the world: laser destruction of the vestibular apparatus in case of its disorders. In 2009, the institute won a medical prize for this discovery. All operations performed by the ear microsurgery department are distinguished by high technology, and about a thousand of them are performed per year. There is no high-tech ear surgery in the world that is not performed by the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow. Zagorodnoye Highway, building 18 A, building 2 - this is the address where you can go for treatment.

For hearing impaired children

In 1974, the Children's Audiological Center was created in Moscow, whose tasks were to provide audiological care - diagnostic, advisory, outpatient - to children - residents of Moscow under 18 years of age. This is a special unit that is managed with constant care by the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow. How to get to this children's center? Address: Vernadskogo Avenue, building No. 9, red metro line, Universitet station, nearby is clinic No. 95. Appointments are available on all weekdays from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm :00 o'clock. Registration is preliminary, carried out by referral from any children's clinic or polyclinic association (form 057у-04) at the place of residence. At receptions and consultations there are doctors: psychiatrists, audiologists-otorhinolaryngologists, defectologists (teachers).

Here, medical and pedagogical examinations of children with hearing impairment are carried out in a complex. The most modern hardware diagnostic tests are used: impedance measurement, otoacoustic emission, short-latency evoked auditory potentials, pure-tone audiometry and many others. For pedagogical diagnostics and training of children with speech and hearing impairments, deaf-pedagogical hardware complexes “Visible Speech” are used here. Sick children are provided with the help of this Center with the most qualified assistance that exists in the capital.

Phoniatrics and microsurgery of the larynx

The department dealing with phoniatry was created by the founder of such a school in Russia, professor and Honored Doctor of Russia Yu. S. Vasilenko. More than four thousand patients are consulted and treated here every year. Diseases of the voice-forming system are varied, and the only institution in Moscow that conducts objective research through acoustic analysis of the voice, as well as restorative treatment, is the Institute of Otolaryngology. In Moscow, the Volokolamskoye Highway is also necessary to get to the National Research Center for Otolaryngology, but there is no such phonopedist with the Vocastim device, so welcome to Zagorodnoye Highway, and not to Volokolamskoye. All professional singers and many actors know this address.

A lot is offered here for examination and treatment:

  • Differential diagnosis of any pathology of vocal functions.
  • Comprehensive rehabilitation of voice disorders for any disorders of the vocal apparatus.
  • Microlaryngoscopy, microlaryngostroboscopy, endofibrolaryngoscopy, videolaryngostroboscopy, acoustic and computer analysis, X-ray tomography of the trachea and larynx, examination of external respiration functions, psychological tests, histological and microbiological studies.
  • Inpatient - all types of endolaryngeal intervention: benign laryngeal formations, for example, both under anesthesia and with local anesthesia.

Branch

The Sverzhevsky Research Institute of Otolaryngology also has a branch, which is located on Khoroshevskoye Shosse, building 12, building 1. Adult residents of Moscow are consulted and treated here and receive hearing care, audiology, advisory, phoniatric and diagnostic care. Every year, patients receive more than fifty thousand consultations at the Institute’s branch, plus about a thousand people who are non-transportable patients are served at home. Speech therapists conduct more than six thousand phonopedic classes, and defectologists teach hearing-impaired patients in at least thirteen thousand classes a year. Ten thousand patients are provided with hearing aids at a discount. Every year on the Day of the Elderly, the Institute of Otolaryngology in Moscow provides free consultations to war veterans and refers them for treatment. Volokolamsk and others are also rightly valued here: veterans come from different places to branch No. 1 to receive medical care.

The technologies were developed right there, by our own specialists, and almost all of them are unique.

  • Thanks to the development and implementation of a method of selective laser destruction for vestibular disorders, he received the Moscow Prize in the field of medicine and a monograph was published.
  • A patent was received for the invention of a screening diagnostic method.
  • A patent was received for the development of a method for treating patients with debilitating dizziness and cupulolithiasis.
  • They were the first in Russia to develop an algorithm for diagnosis and treatment tactics, including surgery, for patients with cochleovestibular disorders (Minor syndrome). Patients with otosclerosis are treated with a laser stapedectomy method developed and put into practice; a completely new surgical method has also been introduced for operations on the middle ear, thanks to which time is significantly reduced and functional results are improved. Two patents have been received on this matter, and candidate and doctoral dissertations have been defended.

The scientific achievements of the institute can be listed and listed, and each of them is a unique development, carried out entirely independently throughout the entire cycle - from invention to implementation, and the results are excellent, and all this because the institute is constantly improving the qualification level of each employee .

Scientific work

As can be seen from this article, where, of course, it is impossible to reflect all aspects of the research institute’s activities, scientific work here is simply in full swing. And very often it is based on international cooperation. Real celebrities, the world's leading experts, come here with enviable regularity, and then they exchange best practices with the staff of the institute.

In addition, specialists from among the institute’s staff also periodically receive business trips and visit leading clinics in the world - France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Korea, Israel received our doctors and shared their experience. Thus, the Institute of Otolaryngology remains at the forefront of national science and transmits its knowledge and skills to all practicing specialists in Russia. Training symposiums, master classes, and seminars are held here.
