Cholecystitis - symptoms, treatment, including folk remedies.
From a conversation with gastroenterologist, therapist of the highest category T. V. Stepanova

Cholecystitis– a disease associated with inflammation of the gallbladder. This disease occurs in approximately 15% of adults. The gallbladder is located in the lower part of the liver and is pear-shaped. The gallbladder stores bile reserves necessary for the normal digestion of fats.
Inflammation of the gallbladder begins for two reasons:
1. From the intestine, an infection enters it through the bile ducts - staphylococci, streptococci, E. coli.
2. Stones form in the gallbladder.
Both of these reasons lead to the development of cholecystitis.

Acute cholecystitis - symptoms
An attack of acute cholecystitis occurs suddenly, often at night after a heavy dinner. The attack is accompanied by acute pain in the right hypochondrium, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, and bitterness in the mouth. Bitterness in the mouth is a distinctive symptom of acute cholecystitis. In this case, you must quickly call an ambulance.

Chronic cholecystitis - symptoms in adults
Most often, the disease, bypassing the acute stage, becomes chronic. Problems in the gallbladder accumulate over the years. For example, a person eats everything indiscriminately, drinks, abuses medications, and if he feels pain in his right side, he simply takes a painkiller pill. And everything seems to be fine. But if you examine his gallbladder, then all the signs of chronic cholecystitis will be clearly visible - the walls of the gallbladder are thickened, swollen, covered with purulent ulcers and polyps, the mucous membrane is atrophied. The gallbladder can no longer perform its functions and looks like a shriveled sac.
Symptoms of chronic cholecystitis in adults:
- dull or severe pain in the hypochondrium after eating fatty foods;
- nausea;
- bloating;
- bitterness in the mouth;
- stool disorder

Treatment of acute cholecystitis.
In acute cholecystitis, doctors try to preserve the gallbladder. An operation to remove it is performed only if the stones have blocked the bile duct. In other cases, antibiotics are prescribed. First, injections: clarofan, cephobid, cefazolin, gentamicin. If the symptoms of cholecystitis have decreased, antibiotics are prescribed in tablets: amoxiclav and amoxicillin.
For acute pain and gallbladder dysfunction, antispasmodics are prescribed by injection: papaverine, no-spa.

Treatment of chronic cholecystitis.
For the chronic course of the disease, duspatalin (1 capsule in the morning and evening), odeston, dicetel (1 tablet 3 times a day) are effective. The course of treatment is at least 3 weeks.
For chronic cholecystitis, bile-thinning drugs are often prescribed: ursofalk, ursosan (adults - 3 capsules at night), hofitol (2 capsules 3 times a day), allohol. The course of treatment with these bile-thinning drugs is 3-6 months.

Chronic cholecystitis and pancreatitis often occur together. Then drugs are prescribed that improve food digestion: mezim, Creon, unenzyme.

How to make “blind” tubages for chronic acalculous cholecystitis
To eliminate stagnation of bile in the gallbladder during acalculous cholecystitis during remission, it is useful to make “blind” tubes. They must be done on an empty stomach under the supervision of relatives.
1. Buy 1 liter of Borjomi or Essentuki mineral water No. 17, release the gas
2. Heat the water and add 1 tbsp. l. olive oil.
3. Take 2 tablets of no-shpa
4. Drink all the water in 10-15 minutes
5. Lie on your right side on a warm heating pad and lie there for 1.5-2 hours. If the heating pad is water, the relative must change the water to hot water.

The procedure should not cause discomfort. An indicator of the effectiveness of tubage will be the presence of stool with a greenish tint a few hours after the procedure. This will mean that the mineral water with oil worked, affected the gallbladder, it contracted and pushed thickened bile into the 12-gut in the form of clots and flakes.
This cleaning of the gallbladder should be done 4-7 times during the month. If the procedure does not work for some reason, then you can simply take 1 tbsp of olive oil 3 times a day. l. 20 minutes before meals. This will promote a gentle cleansing of the gallbladder.

There was no appetite at all, to the point of aversion to food, frequent vomiting, the weight reached 40 kg. Donor blood was infused twice, because I also had anemia. They sent me for surgery to remove my gallbladder, but for some reason it wasn’t removed in the end. Often the woman was in hospital. This went on for several years, every year she went to Truskavets to drink mineral water. On the way from the resort, the patient met an old man who advised her a folk remedy for cholecystitis.
Place a flat cake of any flour in any vegetable oil, sprinkle finely grated fresh horseradish on it and apply the horseradish to the skin to the sore spot. This simple remedy cures many diseases.
And so, having returned home, the woman, before going to bed, made a compress of flat cake with horseradish on the area of the gallbladder, as her grandfather advised. She doesn’t remember how long she held it, but she removed it when she felt that at first a warmth seemed to spread, and then a rumbling began in her stomach. The woman decided that bile had begun to drain, which meant there would be no more stagnation. I went to the doctor and asked for a referral for probing to check the results of the treatment. After the examination, the doctor said that the analysis was very good, which had never been done before. After this, the patient gained 3 kg of weight in 1 month, and she never again developed symptoms of cholecystitis. (Bulletin of Healthy Lifestyle 2010, No. 8, p. 8).

Cholecystitis is an inflammatory disease of the gallbladder that affects up to 20% of the adult population. The main cause of the disease is infectious in nature. The causative agents of the disease are streptococci, E. coli, staphylococcus, and other bacteria that easily enter the bladder through ducts from the intestines, through lymph, and blood. The gallbladder plays an important role in motility, the fermentation of the body's digestive tract.

Symptoms may be intermittent. Exacerbation of symptoms is a consequence of overeating fatty, spicy or smoked foods. Collection and analysis of the patient's medical history reveals acute, chronic or.

These include diseases that provoke the development of cholecystitis, being its cause and consequence.

Prevention of cholecystitis with folk remedies

Prevention and prevention of cholecystitis are of no small importance. If the disease is taken by surprise, traditional folk remedies are used to help in the fight against a serious disease.

Bile stagnation occurs when the bile ducts are blocked.

Spastic dyskinesia is an insufficiency or excess of bile flow into the duodenum due to impaired motility of the biliary tract.

  • medicinal infusion of immortelle flowers;
  • choleretic herbs, infusions: trefoil leaves, peppermint, coriander fruits and immortelle flowers; herbal collection of immortelle flowers, yarrow, peppermint and coriander fruits; flowers of common tansy; corn silk;
  • an infusion of barberry leaves has a mild choleretic property;
  • extract based on rose hips;
  • orthosiphon stamen tea (relieves spasms in gallstone disease);
  • infusion of peppermint leaves;
  • preparation from dandelion root extract;
  • Propolis contains active beneficial substances that kill harmful bacteria. In addition, it strengthens the immune system.

For proper preparation of herbal infusions and infusions, one regimen and dose are followed. The infusions are prepared as follows: pour the mixture, boil in a warm container in a water bath for about 15 minutes, then cool to room temperature and strain through a sieve. Dense raw materials are infused in a water bath longer.

For cholelithiasis, infusions are taken with caution.

A complex approach

Cholecystitis is curable, but with great difficulty. It’s not easy to get rid of it forever; an important condition is an integrated and systematic approach. Then the consequences of the disease are minimized.

Nutrition correction and diet

Proper nutrition lays the foundations. Healthy foods contain essential vitamins. These include:

  • Vitamin A is found in fermented milk products, milk and butter.
  • Vitamin B is found in meat, cereals, bread, fish, and parsley.
  • Flaxseed oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 vitamins;
  • Vitamins of group C.

A method of treating diabetes mellitus as a cause of chronic diabetes: flax seed lowers blood sugar and cholesterol, normalizes liver function.

Treatment options for pancreatitis:

  • Potato juice as an anti-inflammatory antispasmodic agent. Fresh juice slows down the production of digestive enzymes and helps against pancreatitis.
  • An attack of pancreatitis will help relieve the immortelle preparation, improve bile secretion and activate the functioning of the pancreas.

Methods for treating stones: milk thistle is an anti-inflammatory antibacterial antispasmodic agent. The seeds are consumed brewed and dry, as well as milk thistle oil. The trace elements of this plant have cholesterol-lowering properties. Milk thistle oil is useful for seasoning fresh vegetable salads.

Other treatments

  1. Mud therapy and sanatorium-resort treatment also help against chronic diseases.
  2. In acute forms of the disease, elecampane helps relieve pain and discomfort. Elecampane is brewed together with string and mint: the ingredients are crushed, left in boiling water for an hour, then filtered and consumed before meals.

Cholecystitis does not occur as an independent disease. This is always the reason, the companion of dangerous diagnoses. Systemic treatment is required, with diseases such as pancreatitis and diabetes. The disease is infectious in nature, so doctors often prescribe a course of antibiotics. However, the use of antibacterial medications is contraindicated. This recipe is not possible during pregnancy, lactation, allergies to drug components, or severe dysbacteriosis.

There are surgical treatments, but not always possible. Tibetan medicine considers the disease to be a manifestation of an imbalance in the regulation of the liver and bile ducts. The causes are rightly considered to be poor nutrition and stress. In case of chronic, calculous cholecystitis, traditional medicine has contraindications; it is necessary to carefully select treatment options. It is easier to prevent a disease than to treat its consequences, so prevention should come first.

Cholecystitis is a disease characterized by inflammation of the gallbladder and its ducts. The presented internal organ is assigned quite important functions, and when cholecystitis occurs, serious disruptions begin in the entire body. Patients with problems with excess body weight are a risk factor. You can find out the most effective treatment for cholecystitis with folk remedies in this material.

Description of the disease

The main cause of cholecystitis is impaired excretion of bile components from the gallbladder. This phenomenon is called stagnation of bile and can provoke the formation of stones in the organ, which will only aggravate the pathological process, preventing bile outflow, and in some cases, clogging the bile ducts. But the following factors can contribute to poor bile flow:

  • incorrect and irregular diet;
  • food abuse;
  • passive lifestyle, which inhibits natural processes in the body;
  • changes in the microflora of the gallbladder that occur as a result of pathogenic microorganisms entering the internal organ;
  • the period of gestation, which is more typical for women of the older age group;
  • genetic predisposition.

According to the form of the course, cholecystitis is divided into:

Spicy

The acute form of the disease is considered the most serious, which is often characterized by the formation of gallstones. Then the disease begins to be called cholelithiasis or calculous cholecystitis.

Particularly dangerous is the accumulation of stones in the gall bladder and their subsequent penetration into the ducts, thereby disrupting the outflow of bile from the organ. Often this form of the disease requires urgent medical intervention.

Signs of acute cholecystitis are:

  • painful sensations in the right side of the abdomen, acute and cramping in nature;
  • presence of a bitter taste in the mouth;
  • increase in body temperature values;
  • nausea ends with a gag reflex, which does not relieve;
  • sudden attacks of weakness;
  • acquiring a jaundiced tint to the skin of the face.

Chronic

The chronic form of cholecystitis is characterized by a calmer course and is not accompanied by the formation of gallstones. The duration of development of the disease can reach several weeks. Sometimes pancreatitis may occur against its background, and there is also a possibility of exacerbation of existing ailments.

Symptoms of chronic cholecystitis include the following:

  • a feeling of heaviness in the stomach that occurs after finishing a meal;
  • dull painful sensations;
  • bitter taste in the mouth or bitter belching;
  • lack of appetite;
  • digestive system disorders;
  • deterioration of general condition, accompanied by severe weakness, dizziness and poor health.

Due to the mild severity of the inflammatory process in the chronic form of the disease, the diagnosis of pathology comes down to a comprehensive examination, for the purpose of which mainly instrumental techniques are used. The attending physician may prescribe;

  • Ultrasound of the abdominal organs;
  • X-ray of the gallbladder using a contrast agent.

Treatment

Cholecystitis is one of the few diseases in the treatment of which folk remedies will be especially effective. There is a huge variety of numerous remedies and recipes that help defeat a dangerous disease.

In addition, many plant extracts are used to make pharmaceutical preparations, which once again confirms their effectiveness. However, before starting treatment, it is worth undergoing an examination to ensure that the diagnosis is correct, as well as to clarify the form and cause of the disease.

The effectiveness of traditional medicine against cholecystitis

There is a huge variety of folk recipes that help get rid of the manifestations of cholecystitis. The disease is an acute or chronic inflammation of the walls of the gallbladder. The process can be associated with various factors and develop under the influence of cold, poor nutrition, viral or bacterial infection, as well as helminth infestation.

Depending on the conditions of cholecystitis, two types are distinguished:

  • calculous - associated with the formation of stones in the cavity of the gallbladder;
  • non-calculous - with this form there are no stones, and the disease is manifested only by inflammation of the walls of the organ.

Cholecystitis is a disease for which treatment at home is justified. The main goal of therapy is to normalize the outflow of bile through the biliary tract, since they can be compressed by inflamed tissues. In addition, this secretion becomes thicker and does not pass well through the ducts into the duodenum. Thick bile accumulates in the cavity of the gallbladder and can precipitate, which is the first degree of gallstone disease.

Treatment for calculous and acalculous cholecystitis will differ. In the first case, it is important not only to normalize the outflow of bile, but also to get rid of its cause - stones in the cavity of the gallbladder. There are pharmaceutical preparations and herbal extracts that provoke the resorption of stones, but in advanced cases, traditional methods may be ineffective. Large stones are not amenable to medication and can only be removed on the operating table. If chronic cholecystitis occurs due to poor nutrition, it can be easily cured at home.

Proper nutrition is the basis for the treatment of cholecystitis

Foods that help with an inflamed gallbladder

Diet is the main condition for recovery from inflammation of the gallbladder. Cholecystitis is often caused by eating unhealthy foods or eating irregularly. Its main reason is a large amount of animal fats, which form cholesterol deposits. In addition, an abundance of fatty foods disrupts the processes of natural secretion and outflow of bile. It is this secretion that is involved in the emulsification and breakdown of fat in the intestines, and is produced in response to food entering the stomach.

Regardless of the method of treating gallbladder inflammation, it is important to completely reconsider your diet and create a correct diet. Treatment of cholecystitis at home should begin with proper nutrition. Since many products have anti-inflammatory and choleretic properties, they become mandatory for consumption. For any form of cholecystitis, doctors recommend eating as follows:

  • divide the daily portion of food into 5-6 meals and eat it every 2 hours;
  • drink at least 2 liters of water a day (it helps to dilute bile and normalizes its outflow), but do not wash it down with food, but drink it between meals;
  • exclude fats of animal origin, especially during an exacerbation - they can provoke the formation of cholesterol gallstones;
  • eat fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as juices from them - these products cleanse the gallbladder;
  • do not exceed the permissible calorie intake - to process large amounts of food, the liver must produce bile in increased quantities, which aggravates the disease;
  • prefer lean first courses, cereals, boiled or stewed vegetables, and choose only low-fat varieties of meat and fish;
  • completely avoid alcoholic and carbonated drinks, strong coffee and tea - they can be replaced with natural herbal infusions.

In case of malnutrition, cholecystitis often occurs in combination with other diseases. The inflammatory process spreads to the rest of the digestive tract, and the patient is diagnosed with gastritis, pancreatitis, hepatitis or intestinal diseases. For all these pathologies, it is recommended to normalize the diet, and then begin treatment with medications or traditional methods. Mild inflammation of the gallbladder can be cured solely with diet, without taking additional medications.

Cleansing the gallbladder using traditional methods

Exacerbation of cholecystitis can be caused by excessive secretion of bile and its accumulation in the gallbladder. In this case, it is necessary to free it from excess contents, otherwise the inflammatory process will continue to progress. Pharmacies sell special medications that have a choleretic effect, but they can be replaced with one of the simple products.

Medicinal herbs are taken separately or as part of complex preparations

Treatment of cholecystitis with folk remedies can be no less effective than taking expensive drugs. During the course of therapy, you should pay attention to your well-being. Pain and other symptoms should gradually subside, and their exacerbation indicates that the chosen medication must be stopped.

Effective remedies against cholecystitis

The most effective remedies for the treatment of cholecystitis, which are recommended by traditional medicine specialists, should not harm the body. They affect the processes of bile outflow, have antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. In the initial stages, cholecystitis can be completely cured if you take one of the useful folk remedies:

  • a day they eat half a glass of the mixture, which is obtained by infusing 500 g of oats with a liter of boiling water;
  • freshly squeezed cabbage juice is another remedy for folk treatment of gallbladder diseases; you need to drink 500 ml in small portions per day;
  • half a glass of a mixture of sunflower or olive oil in combination with grapefruit juice (in equal proportions) is drunk 2 hours after the last meal;
  • a decoction of peeled crushed beets - keep it over low heat until thickened, and then take a quarter glass three times a day.

Treatment of chronic cholecystitis is a long process. Even pharmaceutical drugs cannot relieve the symptoms of this disease immediately after taking them, and natural remedies contain active ingredients in lower concentrations. They have the advantage of being accessible and safe, and they rarely cause side effects. However, before starting treatment for inflammation, you should consult a doctor and find out about all the nuances of the disease. Those drugs that are completely safe for adults can cause exacerbation of cholecystitis in children; the presence of other pathologies in the anamnesis should also be taken into account.

Herbal preparations and decoctions for the treatment of cholecystitis

In the arsenal of traditional medicine, there are hundreds of recipes for herbal infusions, tinctures and decoctions, but it is important to know how to treat the disease so as not to harm the patient. Treatment of cholecystitis with herbs is the most gentle way to relieve pain and inflammation, as well as normalize the processes of secretion and outflow of bile. There are several varieties of such natural preparations that can be prepared at home:

  • choleretic herbs for cholecystitis are very useful because they prevent its thickening in the cavity of the gallbladder and the formation of stones;
  • anti-inflammatory herbal remedies - effectively relieve pain and inflammation;
  • natural antibacterial drugs - indicated if the disease is caused by the activity of pathogenic bacteria.

Herbs for chronic cholecystitis can be the basis of treatment for this disease. They can be taken separately or combined with each other to increase effectiveness. It is also recommended to combine herbal components from different groups - this way they can act not only on the symptoms, but also on the causes of the disease.

If the gallbladder is inflamed, it is recommended to clean it using traditional methods.

  • One spoon of corn silk is poured into a glass of boiling water and left for at least an hour. The infusion should be drunk during the day, and a fresh one should be brewed the next morning. This remedy stimulates the outflow of bile and normalizes the process of its secretion.
  • Two tablespoons of dried crushed yarrow are brewed in 200 ml of boiling water. The mixture must then be strained, divided into 4 servings and drunk before each meal.
  • Two tablespoons of sage are poured into 400 ml of boiling water and left for half an hour. The product is drunk several spoons every 2-3 hours. It relieves inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract and gall bladder.
  • A good remedy for cholecystitis is a complex choleretic preparation. Birch leaves, juniper fruits, wormwood and yarrow raw materials are mixed in equal proportions and crushed. One spoon of the mixture is poured into a glass of boiling water and simmered over low heat for 15–20 minutes. Then the broth is filtered and drunk a glass in the morning and evening.
  • A mixture of St. John's wort, motherwort, immortelle and mint also has medicinal properties. For 1 liter of boiling water you will need 4 tablespoons of dry crushed raw materials. It is poured with boiling water and left in a thermos for at least 2 hours. You need to take half a glass three times a day. The drug is contraindicated in case of increased secretion of gastric juice.

Treating gallbladder inflammation at home is a lengthy but effective process. If the process is not caused by the formation of large stones or organ deformations, treatment with folk remedies will be no less useful than taking pharmaceutical medications. The course of therapy should begin with normalizing nutrition and cleansing the gallbladder cavity of excess contents. However, during periods of exacerbation of the disease, some medications may be contraindicated. It is also necessary to exclude the presence of inflammatory or ulcerative changes in the mucous membrane of the digestive tract. It is possible to completely get rid of cholecystitis at home, but treatment will take at least 2-4 weeks, unlike potent medications - some of them relieve inflammation immediately after administration.
