Vitrum prenatal for pregnant women. Special instructions and contraindications. Vitrum Prenatal Forte for pregnant women

Healthy lifestyle, good sleep and high-quality nutrition for a pregnant woman is the key to good physical and mental health her unborn child. By the way, nutrition is something that an expectant mother needs to take most seriously. And it is no coincidence, because it is from what she eats every day that her child draws everything necessary for the full development and functioning of life. Therefore, every day a woman should receive with food a sufficient amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, as well as those necessary to ensure normal exchange substances of vitamins and microelements.

Should I take prenatal vitamins?

During pregnancy, the need for vitamins especially increases. Moreover, which ones exactly depends entirely on how long the woman is in prison.

And although vitamins are not involved in any way in various biochemical processes occurring in the body, they perform no less important role, catalyzing or inhibiting them. Daily requirement In vitamins, it is customary to count in milligrams or micrograms. However, despite such seemingly modest dosages, an imbalance - both deficiency and excess of a particular vitamin - can provoke quite serious disorders.

From the moment of pregnancy, a number of significant changes occur in a woman’s body regarding metabolic processes, functions hormonal system, blood composition, etc. Consequently, the need for vitamins and biologically significant substances, both macroelements and microelements, changes.

That is why obstetricians-gynecologists advise expectant mothers to follow special diet, providing for the maximum intake of vitamins from food into the body. And in in some cases It is recommended to simultaneously supplement it with vitamins specially designed for pregnant women. One of the most well-proven vitamins, according to the advice of doctors and numerous reviews, are Vitrum vitamins for pregnant women. It is necessary to start taking vitamin complexes from the first days after the test showed the coveted two stripes, and even better - several months before the onset of pregnancy, at the planning stage.

Of course, the question of whether to take prenatal vitamins is quite controversial for many women. And, perhaps, in each specific case, the final choice is made by the pregnant woman herself. However, it is still worth listing all the advantages of taking special complexes (for example, such as Vitrum vitamins for pregnant women):

  • Received synthetic vitamins identical to the vitamins contained in food products, however, in most products the vitamins are destroyed during long-term storage and heat treatment;
  • Most vitamin complexes, including Vitrum, contain in the required dosage those vitamins whose deficiency is most dangerous for the mother and fetus, namely B9 (folic acid), B6, iron, calcium and zinc. By the way, in the diet of many women these elements are often lacking;
  • On early stages During pregnancy, many women face the problem of toxicosis, which is why their diet suffers greatly. As a result, the body experiences a persistent shortage useful substances and vitamins. But it is in the early stages that the formation of all organs and systems occurs, so even a slight deficiency of vitamin B9 or A can be critical. Vitamins for pregnant women can not only compensate for this deficiency, but also partially mitigate the manifestations of toxicosis;
  • Individual vitamins have a synergistic effect, i.e. enhance each other's effect. So that each of them provides necessary action on the body, they should be taken comprehensively. By taking vitamin complexes for pregnant women, for example, normal absorption of vitamin D3 and calcium is ensured, thereby reducing the risk of developing rickets and osteoporosis in the fetus.

When are vitamin complexes prescribed?

Any vitamin complexes, and Vitrum Prenatal vitamins for pregnant women are no exception; they are prescribed by a gynecologist. They are mainly indicated in the following cases:

  • To improve the health of couples planning pregnancy and reduce possible factors risks contributing to the development of pregnancy pathologies in the future;
  • To ensure optimal conditions for the maturation of the egg and its normal implantation after fertilization;
  • If there is a threat of premature termination of pregnancy;
  • With the development of gestosis - toxicosis late dates pregnancy;
  • If the pregnant woman has certain diseases that affect the cardiovascular system;
  • At inflammatory diseases kidney in a woman;
  • To eliminate manifestations iron deficiency anemia;
  • To prevent vitamin deficiency in the postpartum period and during breastfeeding.

Features of vitamins for pregnant women Vitrum

Vitrum complexes contain ten essential vitamins required by women who are preparing to become mothers. Including so necessary for the body folic acid, vitamin C, iron, calcium, vitamin D3 and zinc. It should be noted that in Vitrum Prenatal vitamins for pregnant women, the dose of calcium is slightly higher than that found in the analogue of the drug - Elevit vitamins.

As a rule, in the first weeks and even months of pregnancy, the body especially needs folic acid, tocopherol (vitamin E) and vitamin C. Vitrum prenatal vitamins contain them in quantities that are optimal for the period of bearing a child. A relatively high dosage of folic acid, which, however, is physiological for a pregnant woman, makes expedient reception drug not only in the first trimester, but also during pregnancy planning, as evidenced by numerous medical reviews about Vitrum vitamins for pregnant women.

The presence of vitamin D3 in combination with calcium helps to avoid problems with the musculoskeletal system in the child.

Vitrum vitamins for pregnant women also contain a large number of vitamin B12, thereby eliminating the risk of developing a type of megaloblastic anemia, which is provoked by B12 deficiency.

In addition, the drug compensates for the lack of zinc in mother and child. This is extremely important for the baby’s growing body, because he cannot synthesize it on his own, but receives it only from the mother’s body.

Numerous reviews from women who took a course of Vitrum vitamins during pregnancy and breastfeeding indicate that this drug really gives good results, allows you to preserve not only wellness, but also the external attractiveness of the mother, and also strengthens the health of the baby. However, it is still better to seek the answer to the question of whether to take vitamins for pregnant women together with your gynecologist, because uncontrolled use of these drugs can lead to undesirable consequences.

Information provided

Pregnancy is a period of maximum responsibility in the life of every woman. Not only her body, but also the health of the unborn baby now depends on her. At this time it is very important to refuse any bad habits and eat right. To provide herself and the baby growing in the womb with all the necessary nutrients, a woman can additionally take Vitrum vitamins for pregnant women.

Should I take multivitamins for pregnant women?

During pregnancy, the need for essential nutrients and vitamins increases sharply. The latter often raise questions and doubts among expectant mothers. The fact is that we need substances called vitamins in very small quantities. They don't have energy value and are used only to regulate processes occurring in the body. If they are missing, they begin pathological changes. At the same time, exceeding the required amount of vitamins is also dangerous and provokes disruption of metabolic processes.

Therefore, during pregnancy you need to carefully monitor the amount of vitamins you get with food. But we should not forget that during this period the functioning of many systems changes, the work of the hormonal system is restructured, which means the need for nutrients also changes. That is why even women who are accustomed to eating healthy and balanced can suffer from vitamin deficiency, and hypervitaminosis is extremely rare.

Water-soluble vitamins, such as C and members of group B, almost never accumulate in excess, as they are excreted in the urine. More common is the accumulation of fat-soluble vitamins in the body - A, D, E, K. Therefore, the composition of multivitamins for pregnant women is thought out so that they cannot cause harm even in conditions of good nutrition.

Many expectant mothers believe that good vitamins for pregnant women it is expensive, and it would be more profitable to stick to a balanced diet. But make it right complete diet for a pregnant woman so as to provide herself with all the necessary substances and at the same time not exceed the permissible calorie intake and not gain excess weight very difficult. To do this, you will have to seek help from a nutritionist. In addition, the foods in the diet are usually not cheap. That is why it is much cheaper and easier to come to terms with some flaws in your diet and make up for the deficiencies with a good multivitamin complex.

The main benefits of vitamins for pregnant women

Many women refuse to take synthetic vitamins for fear of them harmful effects or doubting their effectiveness. Actually the reception multivitamin complexes for pregnant women has a number of significant advantages:

  • Synthetic vitamins are absolutely identical to natural ones. But we must take into account that in most products after heat treatment and long-term storage, they are destroyed, and the composition of the multivitamin tablet is stable.
  • All high-quality vitamin preparations for pregnant women, including Vitrum, contain in optimal ratios the substances that are most important while expecting a baby. Typically these are minerals - calcium, iron and zinc, as well as vitamins B6 and B12 (folic acid). Fat-soluble vitamins, which can cause an overdose, are contained in quantities that guarantee safe use.
  • In the early stages, nausea during pregnancy often leads to the inability to eat any food. During this period, the lack of nutrients is especially dangerous - after all, the laying of all organs occurs. For example, even a seemingly insignificant lack of folic acid can lead to defects in the formation of the neural tube and the development of spina bifida in the fetus. Taking prenatal vitamins will help compensate for nutritional deficiencies.
  • Some vitamins, when taken simultaneously, enhance each other's effects. It is very difficult to plan your diet in such a way as to get them in one meal in the required volumes. A multivitamin tablet can solve the problem.

When are vitamin complexes prescribed?

All vitamin complexes are developed in such a way that even if used incorrectly and self-medicated, they do not cause harm or damage to health is minimal. But this does not mean that you can just go to the pharmacy and buy any poly you like. vitamin preparation. Before doing this, you should consult your doctor. Typically, taking vitamins for pregnant women is recommended:

  • During active planning, so that immediately after implantation the embryo receives the substances it needs in full;
  • If there is a threat of miscarriage;
  • For nausea during pregnancy or early toxicosis;
  • If a woman cannot eat properly;
  • In order to prevent vitamin deficiency even during a normal pregnancy and adequate nutrition moms.

Composition of vitamins Vitrum Prenatal Forte

Vitrum Prenatal contains all the vitamins that can be useful for the expectant mother. In this complex, each substance has its own properties and regulates the course of certain processes in the body. The composition is specially selected so that all vitamins complement each other and mutually enhance the effect.

Vitrum is produced in the form oblong tablets orange color. Their form is very convenient for swallowing and will appeal even to those who absolutely do not like tablets.

To understand how the drug affects expectant mother, it is necessary to carefully study its composition and analyze the effect of each of its components:

  • Vitamin A. Controls the production of enzymes and affects the condition of muscles and skin. It is necessary for the production of interferon, the body’s main defender against infections, and also takes part in the synthesis of epithelium. This substance has a positive effect on the condition of the human retina; without it, twilight vision is dulled.
  • Vitamin B1 helps regulate carbohydrate metabolism, it prevents acidosis and supports normal condition organs and tissues.
  • Vitamin B2. Without it, the production of enzymes responsible for tissue respiration is impossible. It also helps vitamin B6 enter the active phase.
  • Vitamin B6. Participates in metabolic processes and helps deliver iron to tissues bone marrow. It also regulates the degree of excitability nervous system.
  • Vitamin B5. Regulates fat metabolism and helps maintain structure cell membranes, and also takes part in the production of glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and sex hormones.
  • Vitamin B12. This is folic acid, which is prescribed to all pregnant women without fail. It is needed from the first day of pregnancy until childbirth. But it is especially important to take B12 in the first trimester. It is necessary for correct formation neural tube of the fetus.
  • Vitamin E. It is an antioxidant, improves blood circulation and helps eliminate toxins. During pregnancy, this vitamin is very important, since a woman’s blood volume increases and, accordingly, the load on cardiovascular system. In addition, it takes part in protein synthesis and supports normal work endocrine system.
  • Vitamin D3. It controls the absorption of calcium and phosphorus due to its effect on protein metabolism. Without this substance, the normal absorption of calcium from the gastrointestinal tract and its deposition in growth zones will be disrupted. If this vitamin is not enough, calcium will begin to be washed out of the walls of blood vessels, which threatens varicose veins mother's veins. Also, a lack of calcium threatens to increase bone fragility. For a child, this situation is dangerous, as the risk of developing rickets after birth increases.
  • Vitamin C. It strengthens the body's defenses and also promotes the absorption of iron. In addition, this substance takes part in the regulation of redox reactions and in the formation of collagen in cells, stimulates the production of proteins and lipids.
  • Vitamin RR. It prevents the formation of blood clots in blood vessels, which is very important during pregnancy. This substance also takes part in the synthesis of proteins and fats.
  • Biotin. A substance necessary to regulate all metabolic processes in the body.

In addition to vitamins, Vitrum Prenatal includes microelements:

  1. Calcium. Responsible for the formation of bones and their strength, participates in the process of hematopoiesis. Its deficiency can cause disruption of nerve conduction and iron absorption.
  2. Magnesium. Without it, the absorption of proteins, as well as carbohydrates necessary for the formation of energy, is disrupted.
  3. Iron. One of them the most important elements– without it, cell respiration is disrupted, as the blood loses the ability to transport oxygen. They also take part in redox reactions.
  4. Copper. Necessary for protein synthesis and correct assimilation gland.
  5. Zinc. Responsible for the formation of fetal bones, and also takes part in regulating hormone levels.
  6. Manganese and molybdenum are necessary for the synthesis of carbohydrates and proteins.
  7. Iodine. Protects endocrine system body, is necessary for the proper formation of the child’s nervous system, and also helps reduce cholesterol levels in the blood of the expectant mother.
  8. Selenium. Helps remove free radicals.
  9. Chromium. Regulates the formation of carbohydrates and fatty acids.

What is the difference between Vitrum Prenatal and Vitrum Prenatal Forte

Vitrum Prenatal is a well-balanced multivitamin for women with a normal pregnancy and sufficient balanced diet. In the drug Forte, the dosages of the main components are slightly increased and there is additional substances. Prenatal contains 10 vitamins and 3 minerals, and Forte contains 13 and 10, respectively. Prenatal does not contain betacarotene, vitamins B5 and B7, iodine, magnesium, manganese, copper, molybdenum, selenium and chromium.

Vitrum Prenatal contains 0.34 mg more vitamin A. The difference between them is compensated by beta-carotene. It is a precursor to vitamin A, which can be converted into the vitamin already in the body if such a need arises.

The concentrations of Vitamins D3, PP and B12 in both preparations do not differ, but the amount of B6 is increased by almost 4 times, B12 and E by 3 times, B2 and B1 by 2 times.

The cost of both drugs differs slightly:

  • Vitrum Prenatal No. 30 costs approximately 550 rubles, Forte – 650 rubles;
  • Prenatal No. 60 – approx. 950 rub., Forte – 1150;
  • Prenatal No. 75 – approx. 1200 rub., Forte – 1400;
  • Prenatal No. 100 – approx. 1500 rubles, and Forte is only 200-250 rubles more expensive;
  • Prenatal No. 120 – 1700 rubles, Forte – 2000 rubles.

You should not choose Vitrum Prenatal Forte only for the purpose of saving money, in order to get more useful substances for almost the same money. Hypervitaminosis is no less dangerous than hypovitaminosis, so it is better to choose the appropriate complex with the help of a doctor. For example, if you live in a region where there is no iodine deficiency or use iodized salt when cooking, taking Vitrum Forte is not advisable. Excess iodine in the body during pregnancy is fraught with serious violations fetal development.

How to take Vitrum vitamins correctly

To get the most benefit from a multivitamin, it must be taken correctly. It is advisable to start the appointment at the planning stage. At this time, it is very important to receive a sufficient amount of nutrients, this increases the chances of conception and reduces the risk of impaired development of the baby.

The doctor decides which regimen to take the drug. Typically, expectant mothers are advised to take one tablet daily after meals. If there is a severe lack of iodine, the doctor may prescribe Vitrum Prenatal Forte, which contains more of this substance.

After giving birth, you must continue taking the multivitamin. This important stage restoration of the body. But at the same time, the woman has to feed the baby, which leads to significant losses of energy and nutrients. The vitamin-mineral complex will help improve your well-being and speed up the recovery of the body.

Special instructions and contraindications

Although we all need vitamins, sometimes taking multivitamin preparations leads to side effects. Occasionally they cause allergic reactions. In such a situation, you should immediately stop taking the drug and consult a doctor. He will be able to find out the cause of the allergy and, if necessary, select another complex.

A change in urine color to bright yellow while taking vitamins is not a negative side effect and does not require discontinuation of the medication. This happens due to the influence of vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Darkening of the stool is also normal - this is a consequence of the use of iron as part of the complex.

Although vitamins are not a prescription drug, we must not forget that they are still medicine, and they have a number of contraindications. You should not take prenatal vitamins:

  • With increased levels of vitamins D and A in the blood;
  • In case of individual intolerance to any component of the complex;
  • Simultaneously with other vitamin-containing drugs.

Patients with urolithiasis can take vitamins only after consulting a doctor.

When taking the drug, be sure to take into account possible interaction with other medications. For example, simultaneous administration with antibiotics significantly slows down the process of their absorption, and high concentrations Vitamin C makes them more pronounced side effects sulfonamides. If you take a prenatal vitamin and a diuretic medicine at the same time, your blood calcium levels may increase.

An overdose of vitamins, provided they are taken correctly, is impossible. But, if any deviations occur, it is better to visit a doctor.

Disadvantages of Vitrum Prenatal

The drug contains various excipients, for example, dyes. Substances labeled E110 and E129, which are part of the drug, are prohibited in a number of European countries as a possible carcinogen. While their harm has not been experimentally proven, they are nevertheless not used in France, Germany, Austria and Denmark.

In addition, the relatively high cost of the drug can be considered a relative disadvantage. But considering that one package lasts for a long time, the price does not seem that high.
